webster et al

[edit]

I hope I am not becoming an expert on the subject, but you can always count of me to defend an article on almost anything that calls itself a religious group--I just commented again in the Ebony discussion, & I will comment again in the Webster--it would be better to discuss this where others will also be listening.DGG 03:26, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BackMaun

[edit]

Thanks for checking these edits out. They have a very familiar ring, as does the "doth protest too much" reaction. In answer to your question, and as I posted on User:BackMaun's talk page, Sam Andrew is already included in "Big Brother & the Holding Company" as listed under Past Entertainers, and James Gurley was not with them when they played Starwood and has never appeared there. Neither have been placed alphabetically, either. My opinion, and you are quite welcome to act on it if BlackMaun doesn't do it him/herself, is that both should be deleted, since there is an arbitration going on which is in part about some editors' opinion that there are too many links from this page already. You may also want to review the discussion about the addition of Kenny & Tzipora Klein by Unidyne on the Starwood Festival talk page.

I'll take a look at Sam Webster and see if there's anything I can contribute. Always glad to make contact with another editor interested in articles about spiritual/religious topics and people. Rosencomet 22:38, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just reviewed BackMaun's contribs, and I see that in this short time he/she has visited 5 articles I have either created or recently edited, and vandalized them in one way or another; breaking links, placing non-factual data, etc. They are so diverse that BackMaun must have been looking at them just because they are on my contribs list. He/she has also been bad-mouthing me in the "what is this?" spaces. This is unlikely to be a brand new editor; more likely someone with a bone to pick about me and others whose work he/she has followed and messed with. The "butter wouldn't melt in my mouth" line does not jibe with the actions; I smell a sock. Rosencomet 23:01, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD

[edit]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Jim Nobles, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. about what has happened with this article. Please be very, very careful with Wikipedia:Biographies of living people. While I'm sure that this was simply a good faith mistake on your part, it is very important that we get these things right. Jkelly 22:08, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Can you please help me to understand the difference between AfD and prod? I'm still confused :-\ --Thiebes 07:45, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Jim-Nobles.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jkelly 20:26, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppets

[edit]

I contacted an arbitrator who confirmed that Mattisse, BackMaun and Alien666 "all share an IP from time to time", and asked how serious the problem is. Would you care to weigh in? I told him to look at the activity on List of Thelemites, List of UFO researchers, Allen H. Greenfield and Anodea Judith; Mattisse has been criticized for this kind of thing before on some of the same pages and others edited by the same editors, and supported then by Kathryn (like she did on Anodea Judith) and her two partners as may be happening now. I told him that this looks like a "ramp up" to me, at a time when others in the Starwood arbitration had been saying that there were no recent indications of sockpuppet activity on the part of Mattisse. I'd hate to see you suckered into a revert war, then have an arbitration called on it. I been there. Rosencomet 21:07, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Khabs. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:FremontTroll.jpg) was found at the following location: User talk:Khabs. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 04:40, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
