User talk:Kff~enwiki
Hi Kff~enwiki, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions to the coolest online encyclopedia I know of =). I sure hope you stick around; we're always in need of more people to create new articles and improve the ones we already have. You'll probably find it easiest to start with a tutorial of how the wikipedia works, and you can test stuff for yourself in the sandbox. When you're contributing, you'll probably find the manual of style to be helpful, and you'll also want to remember a couple important guidelines. First, write from a neutral point of view, second, be bold in editing pages, and third, use wikiquette. Those are probably the most important ones, and you can take a look at some others at the policies and guidelines page. You might also be interested in how to write a great article and possibly adding some images to your articles.
Be sure to get involved in the community – you can contact me at my talk page if you have any questions, and you can check out the village pump, where lots of wikipedians hang out and discuss things. If you're looking for something to do, check out the community portal. And whenever you ask a question or post something on a talk page, be sure to sign your name by typing ~~~~.
Again, welcome! It's great to have you. Happy editing! --Spangineer (háblame) 17:28, August 11, 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the warm welcome. I have been around on the German wikipedia for some time, but never managed to create such an impressive talk-site like yours. So I found no space where to put my request. I need some help to upload some illustrations from the German wikipedia to this article: Enterprise_content_management - yes, normally it is the other way round. But now we have as well a lot of articles and images on the German wikipedia which may find a place here. My problem is, how to reference an image from the German wikipedia without uploading it again to the English wikipedia. As an adminstrator you probably know an answer. Thanks - and I hope that you come around my talk page again. Kff 17:41, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
- Don't worry about adding comments to my talk page! That's what it's there for; the reason it's empty is that I just archived everything. Maybe I should go back and put a comment on it so that people know they can talk to me there =). As for adding images to the english wikipedia, the easiest way to do it is to upload them to the wikimedia commons. That allows all the wikipedias to use them. They only accept free images, however (public domain, GFDL, etc. -- no fair use). --Spangineer (háblame) 19:06, August 11, 2005 (UTC)
Re:thanks
[edit]No problem, I've done similar things. Father Howabout1 Talk to me! 18:13, August 13, 2005 (UTC)
AtlanticWebfitters again
[edit]So I see. I think his block just expired. If he stops spamming, I think he has good contributions to make. I took the liberty of changing the URL of the article he linked to to the original instead of the copy he hosts. If he's really interested just in getting information out, I don't see how he can object to that. :) We will see. · rodii · 17:36, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
Hello. I recently removed some extended quotes from this article, and it has been pointed out to me that I overlooked your comment on the talk page saying that it was "Published on wikipedia under GNU by the author". Would you be willing to send an email to permissions-enwikimedia.org so that we can verify your identity before I restore that section to the article? VernoWhitney (talk) 16:24, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- No Problem Verno. I would appreciate a restoration of the citation because the shorted text is not correct. Kff (talk) 16:26, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Kff. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Kff~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
