Welcome and introduction

[edit]

Hi, Kfcdesuland. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person. You can talk to me right now. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck!  Chzz  ►  23:27, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Scientology, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. McGeddon (talk) 19:22, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Sockpuppet (Internet). Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. McGeddon (talk) 19:36, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the message you posted on User talk:McGeddon: the removal of the content you posted at Sockpuppet (Internet) in no way constituted vandalism; to the contrary, your edit was borderline trolling. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 19:42, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Nobody is stalking you; I just saw your comment in the recent edits list (using a tool that watches them) and took the liberty of responding. That said - that "most Wikipedia editors are sockpuppets" is blatantly false, and the general statement that there are sockpuppets on Wikipedia - so what? Unless this has been commented upon by a reliable source, it doesn't belong in the article. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 19:49, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Again - okay, Willy on Wheels was a notorious vandal on Wikipedia. So what? Was he mentioned in a non-trivial manner in a reliable third-party source? If not, he doesn't belong in the article. As for your edit of the other article, sockpuppet - Wikipedia pages are supposed to be written in a formal manner. (See the manual of style.) Words like "simply" add nothing to the article. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 19:55, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Again, it's not that I am deliberately following you. I just happened to come across your post, and tried to explain to you what was going on. (Had I not reverted your edit, somebody else would have sooner or later. You may want to have a look at the policy of verifiability.) - Mike Rosoft (talk) 20:05, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

KFC

[edit]

Hello, I reverted your edit because I looked at your contributions and they're all borderline and can easily be viewed as unconstructive. Dawnseeker2000 20:29, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well I should clarify. I actually reverted your edit before I fully saw the content. Just thought you'd reposted the same uncited statement. When I did see there was a ref I cringed, because the inclusion of a source is a step in the right direction. Anyway, some of your earlier edits did seem to get some negative attention. Cleaning up inappropriate or uncited material is one way that I help out around here, but I'm glad you found a citation for the KFC edit. That said, though, some other editors may still find the entry to be not a good fit in the article. Dawnseeker2000 20:38, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've reverted it again; discuss it on the talk page of the article. Abeg92contribs 04:39, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Edward George Honey, you may be blocked from editing. McGeddon (talk) 19:55, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
