Hello David

Do have time, please, to have a look at the material that I now have in my Sandbox? I hope that I am respecting the talk page guidelines with this question.

I still need to check and edit the material, but it is pretty much a complete first draft. Any guidance you could offer, specifically with respect to my finishing off the work to a Wikipedia approved standard with a view to asking for it to be uploaded, would be most welcome.

I look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Best regards

Nigel

ref failure

[edit]

I was trying to fix your second ref (not a journal) but failed to find a proper format. Apologies. David notMD (talk) 12:55, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello David.
Thank you so much. I have used and donated to Wikipedia over a number of years, but preparing and submitting content is completely new for me so your help is most welcome. I have a range of material that I am sorting out for use in citations, so I will come back to this one in due course.
I have everything drafted up as a three page Word Document, but I seem to be developing and editing the material in sandbox at a snail's pace. So there is unlikely to be any rapid progress, but I am determined to complete the task at some stage!
Thanks again for your kind interest and for sharing your time and experience with me.

Hello again David
I think I have fixed this problem with a different format and a source of material provided to me by one of the archivists at Cambridge University. Slow progress!
I like your 'notMD'. My Dad weathered endless misunderstandings of how anyone could be a doctor of something other than medicine!
Onward! Thanks again.

Hello David
With my most recent editing and expansion of my sandbox content, I have hit a new problem. When trying to save/publish the updated page, the following error message is displayed: No stashed content found for 1229701898/cf8eb461-2d45-11ef-a551-ad893da6c86a
Are you able to help me with this, please?

See Help:Referencing for beginners on how to format references. David notMD (talk) 16:51, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, David. I will work on this.

Clean-up

[edit]

I removed all the bolding, bigs, smalls, other formatting errors, and deleted content not appropriate. I put a submit template at the top. When you believe the draft is ready, submit it. There is always a backlog of drafts at AfC and the system is not a queue, so it can be days, weeks, or sadly, months, before a review responds. If Declined, the reviewer will give reasons. Address those and resubmit. Expect a different reviewer, who may have different objections. David notMD (talk) 12:15, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi David - This is massively helpful. Thank you so much for such a. prompt reply and for explaining the process. I will work through everything and get back to you.
Best regards
Nigel
PS What is AfC, please? Kestrel2Zero (talk) 08:03, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again David - I have now reviewed the changes that you have made. I did a clean up on the text and a couple of citations and links and tried to leave your edits untouched. Thank you again so much for your inout and guidance with this task.
I am submitting the draft today (October 31, 2024) and I have taken good note of your comments with respect to timeline and rejections. As and when declined, I plan to do as you recommend and address the reasons given and resubmit. Kestrel2Zero (talk) 08:07, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Norman Frederick Astbury (October 31)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Johannes Maximilian was:  The comment the reviewer left was:
Good morning, Johannes
Thank you so much for taking the time to review my submission. I value your comments tremendously and I am working my way through them!
Initially I plan to follow the link that you have given me under 'Where to get help" and go through the submission section by section. I hope this seems a sensible approach.
Please may I apologise of the info box being a jpeg: my fault entirely. Is there a recommended template that I can use please?
I look forward to hearing from you further as and when convenient for you.
Finally thank you so much for such a prompt response to my submission. I was concerned about losing momentum during a long wait and you have completely solved that for me.
Best regards
