sagittarius suggestion

[edit]

(Moved here from Keφr's talk page) I went to use sag for the first time today (thank you!) and (1) I realized it was missing {{R from album}}, (2) I think it would be helpful to add alt tooltips of brief explanations over each of the items I am no longer watching this page—whisperback if you'd like a response czar  05:40, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • User:Czar: Oh, there are many more tags missing. {{R from album}} added. I do not know where I can find a more complete list of redirect tags. I also added (rudimentary) support for tooltips, without adding any actual tooltips (because I am just too lazy to write them).
This tool is more of a proof-of-concept anyway. I intended to hand it over to someone else, but could not find anyone "worthy". Keφr 07:24, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I usually use {{R from}}, which went to {{R template index}} but it looks like it was changed recently. Anyway, it has all the major ones I'd use—just happened to be missing the one I was looking for. Thanks for the fixes—maybe I'll add the tooltips myself eventually czar  07:31, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Found a bug [1]: unchecking the "related topic" checkbox and saving doesn't actually remove that element czar  08:15, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Works! Thanks czar  11:59, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kephir. I tried to run Sagittarius on Leopards of Tomorrow, a redirect to an {{anchor}}, but apparently it does not like that. Best, -- Sam Sing! 13:46, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Did you get the above, Kephir? -- Sam Sing! 00:39, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
User:Sam Sailor: Now I did. I would probably have to also get the whole parsed HTML (prop=text) to detect things like that. Possible to do, but it will be relatively expensive bandwidth-wise (compared to prop=sections which is what is used now) and will take a while to implement. I am not saying "no", but do not hold your breath. Keφr 13:05, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That's Greek to yours truly, so I continue belly breathing. ;) -- Sam Sing! 15:50, 24 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Addition to selection text under the "Target" header

[edit]

Could you please add "(from another namespace)" to the "Talk namespace" selection under the "Target" header? —Skyllfully (talk | contribs) 18:28, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

When using sagittarius the clickable link to the page that's being redirected to is missing - it's only displayed as text in a TextBox. Could you please add it so that one can easily open up that page?

--Fixuture (talk) 20:42, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'll second that request. Daask (talk) 17:46, 4 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

(copied from your talk page)
@Kephir: {{This is a redirect}} is deprecated and has been replaced by {{Redirect category shell}}. Can you update the script to use the latter template instead of the former? —MRD2014 talk contribs 15:11, 13 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sagittarius broken June 2017

[edit]

Sagittarius isn't working for me anymore. Perhaps a bug was introduced with your June upgrade? I'm not sure when the problem first began, but a month ago seems about right. The button is created when I go to create a new page, but clicking it does nothing. Sagittarius still works fine when editing an existing redirect.

I'm willing to help with testing if you want, but I don't have enough Javascript skills be useful in debugging. Daask (talk) 15:50, 4 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sagittarius still works for me most of the time when creating new pages. I think it works more frequently if I wait for the page to fully load, and doesn't work if I click the button too soon. However, sometimes, even after waiting a while, I still get an error. The error I'm getting is this: https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=User:Kephir/gadgets/sagittarius.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript at line 982: TypeError: uiPivot is undefined Once this error occurs, if I edit the page, saving is disabled, although previews and show changes works fine. Suggestion to add source: synonym

[edit]

{{R from synonym}} has been around for many years but isn't in the list of sources. Could this be added as a source? Thanks! Stevie is the man! TalkWork 11:57, 20 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Need screenShots

[edit]

Can someone please add the tool screenshots to show how it works ? It will be helpful to demonstrate the working by a screenshot new users before they actually install and try. --DBigXray 21:15, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Done with this edit. Daask (talk) 17:41, 4 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  1. https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=A_nonexistent_page - Shows "Create a redirect" link
  2. https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=A_nonexistent_page&action=edit - Shows a Sagittarius icon button
  3. https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=A_nonexistent_page&action=edit&redlink=1 - Shows neither "Create a redirect" link nor Sagittarius icon button. It should show a Sagittarius icon button.

Does this gadget still work?

[edit]

@Kephir: Whenever I try to use Sagittarius, I see an error: API error: "The "token" parameter must be set." [code: notoken]. Does Sagittarius not work anymore, or is it just my browser that has this problem? Jarble (talk) 17:51, 13 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Jarble: I just noticed this as well. I think it was working a week ago or so. I think it's best to migrate to User:Wugapodes/Capricorn. Daask (talk) 19:11, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Jarble and Daask:  Done It was a quick fix so I took care of the issue, should be working as it was a week or so ago. ~ Amory (utc) 19:49, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
