Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Vicki Sparks, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 09:46, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia has a policy of wp:verifiability. As anyone can generally edit Wikipedia, citations are the only way that Wikipedia has any credibility. To that end, any significant content needs to wp:cite a wp:reliable source. See help:footnotes and wp:referencing for beginners. The use of one's own knowledge is classified as wp:original research and shouldn't be used on Wikipedia as it's not verifiable. A way around this is to have your brain put into a bottle and wired up to Wikipedia's servers .
Doesn't the Durham University website mention Sparks? If she is notable on Wikipedia, I would think Durham would have a glowing report on her success. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 19:26, 23 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Be careful to avoid wp:selfpublished sources such as YouTube, Facebook, and blogs - wp:NOTRS Jim1138 (talk) 19:32, 23 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
