List of best-selling girl groups

[edit]

Thank you for adding sales details for the references on List of best-selling girl groups. Would you mind doing the same thing for Girls' Generation (as the source on the page is 12 years old)? ɴᴋᴏɴ21 ❯❯❯ talk 23:19, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. I'll be happy to do that. Kenquenito (talk) 08:33, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Highest grossing films

[edit]

I think you may be mixing up worldwide gross and domestic gross; the few sources that do cite the 1 billion figure indicate that is worldwide gross; This article from last year gives the domestic figures, suggesting that The Hows of Us is behind Rewind and Hello, Love, Goodbye. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:44, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have information on its worldwide gross, not just the domestic figure? As editors, it’s our responsibility to provide readers with the full picture, not just limit it to domestic gross. Kenquenito (talk) 22:09, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We can include both, but what's important is matching the domestic or gross figures with the correct contexts; it's not accurate to compare the domestic gross of one film against the international gross of another. OhNoitsJamie Talk 01:15, 5 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As a longtime editor, do you have a proposal on how we can do that? Kenquenito (talk) 01:53, 5 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I wish I could say it was simple; List of highest-grossing films in the Philippines currently says it's based on "Philippines-based from data gathered by Box Office Mojo," but some of the other sources used in the list differ from the Box Office Mojo figures, and most of the BOM figures only list US dollar figures. I've started a discussion on Talk:List_of_highest-grossing_films_in_the_Philippines#BoxOfficeMojo_vs_other_sources; please weigh in there. OhNoitsJamie Talk 14:59, 5 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much. I was going to suggest that you consider creating a Talk page about it, as I’ve seen many editors putting the overall gross instead of the domestic one. Kenquenito (talk) 16:17, 5 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

November 2024 redux

[edit]

I'm skeptical of the 1 billion figure; I've only seen the single video source that mentions it in passing. Unless you can find additional reliable sources that support that figure, I'm thinking that the 810 million seems more plausible. OhNoitsJamie Talk 18:46, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There are reliable, credible, and valid sources that state The Hows of Us grossed ₱915 million. However, due to your incompetence, you focus on witch-hunting those you suspect of sockpuppetry instead of protecting the articles from being reverted by any idiot out there. Don’t make me laugh. Blocked for sockpuppetry

[edit]
Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Ampupu123. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

I was hoping you weren't engaging in sockpuppettry when I requested an investigation, and was dissapointed to see that was not the case. Be advised that I will be watching for new accounts arguing about box office figures and will investigate those as well. OhNoitsJamie Talk 12:46, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A message to OhNoitsJamie

[edit]

Dear @Ohnoitsjamie,

Blocking editors because of alleged sockpuppetry not only fails to address the real issue—the outdated information on Wikipedia—but also undermines its core mission to provide readers with accurate, well-sourced knowledge.

The fact that I presented credible sources confirming that The Hows of Us grossed ₱915 million at the box office, yet you’ve chosen to retain an outdated data, is disappointing. Instead of focusing on improving the article for the benefit of readers, you chose to block accounts and protect the page, leaving Wikipedia’s audience misinformed. This directly contradicts Wikipedia’s purpose of being an informative platform.

If you feel the need to block my IP address indefinitely, so be it. However, this does not change the fact that your actions here have prioritized control over collaboration and accuracy. Wikipedia is not a tool for asserting superiority—it exists to present truth and knowledge, which your current approach fails to achieve.

It’s no surprise there are numerous insults directed at you when I searched “Ohnoitsjamie” on Google. You’re just an old human being who has been obsessively patrolling Wikipedia since 2005.

I know you’ll delete this message, but you can’t escape the fact that you’re an incompetent administrator. Kenquenito (talk) 14:35, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the exciting message. TPA revoked. OhNoitsJamie Talk 14:42, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
