Short descriptions

[edit]

Thank you for adding Short descriptions to articles. However, many of these descriptions have started with a lower case letter. Please read the guidelines at WP:SDFORMATGhostInTheMachine talk to me 08:59, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for your message. When I started adding the missing short descriptions I read the guidelines and they said to start it with a lower case letter. I was unaware this had changed, I appreciate you letting me know. I'm happy to start them with a capital letter from now on, and will correct any lower case ones I see.
Thx,
Ken Kc3302 (talk) 01:58, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Once again, list articles with self-evident subject titles are supposed to have short descriptions set to "None". Please stop trying to change this. Thank you. --IJBall (contribstalk) 12:44, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"Once again"??? "Please stop trying to change this"?????? This is the first time I've ever heard from you IJBall and I don't recall making any previous changes to list articles. If I'm allowed to change it (not only that but the Wikipedia app suggests that I do change it) then the problem is not with me. Either the article does not have "none" correctly set, or the app (the official Wikipedia iOS app) is not identifying "none" and needs to be fixed so it doesn't suggest nor allow editing of the short description. Made same edit twice: [1], [2] at List of tram and light rail transit systems. Likely should have gotten the message after my first reversion, which was clear in its message. Relevant guideline is WP:SDNONE... You can't say you haven't been told now. As for the app, can't tell you much about it, except that I find it fairly useless on my iPad. --IJBall (contribstalk) 13:22, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
My humble apologies. I had no idea I had done the same thing twice. I have been viewing that article a lot on multiple devices and must have edited it again to get rid of the blue prompt asking me to edit it. But I now know to ignore it. I didn't see the reversion notification so it must have gone into spam. The iPad app used to be abysmal but it improved and it suits much of my browsing purposes much of the time these days.
