Speedy deletion of "Kyle Pina"

[edit]

A page you created, Kyle Pina, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how they are important or significant, and thus why they should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for biographies in particular.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. →εϻαdιν ΤαΙk Ͼδητrιβμτιoης 22:42, 27 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Two most common reasons why most pages are deleted

[edit]
  • Reliable sources typically include: articles from magazines or newspapers (particularly scholarly journals), or books by recognized authors (basically, books by respected publishers). Online versions of these are usually accepted, provided they're held to the same standards. User generated sources (like Wikipedia) are to be avoided. Self-published sources should be avoided except for information by and about the subject that is not self-serving (for example, citing a company's website to establish something like year of establishment).

In other words, there need to be multiple sources completely unaffiliated with Kyle Pina for us to keep an article about him. That means that MIT athletics website does not count, nor any school newspapers. The sources should also be published and have a degree of editorial control and fact checking (usually narrowing the source down to a magazine or newspaper). Unsourced assertions of local prominence do not justify an article. Ian.thomson (talk) 00:46, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
