License tagging for Image:Grindhouse promo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Grindhouse promo.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 22:06, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Rose McGowan 07-22-06.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Rose McGowan 07-22-06.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 23:23, 14 May 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Not a dog 23:23, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Jdawg3k

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Jdawg3k, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Jdawg3k seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Jdawg3k, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. CSDWarnBot 20:30, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Latino Youth Alternative High School, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Latino Youth Alternative High School. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. NotAnonymous0 did I err?|Contribs 05:05, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Jimmy Wales. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. ADVICE - Leave his date alone - he has stated his preference. Guess what? He wins.--Morenooso (talk) 02:27, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did to Jimmy Wales, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Morenooso (talk) 02:29, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to this article. However, note that I unlinked a redlink you introduced. Also, please check that your sources and external links are properly formatted, as some of them appear to be dead links. I'll try to clean them up. Also, it might be worth checking out WP:MOS. License tagging for File:Latin king.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Latin king.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 23:05, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

TO YOU IT'S FUNNY

[edit]

...THAT YOU UPLOAD A PICTURE AND PORTRAY THE LATIN KINGS AS DRAG-QUEENS AND THEN POST IT TO THE LATIN KING PAGE AS IF YOU THINK IT'S A JOKE. BUT MANY COULD BE OFFENDED BY YOUR DISRESPECT. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zavier51 (talkcontribs) 20:07, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Latin king.png, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

this file is a hoax, it's a picture of a woman dressed as a man, showing non-latin king gang signs. There is no indication that this person is a Latin king. Some may find this offensive

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Zavier51 (talk) 21:11, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

RESPONSE

[edit]

I'm going to assume that you are making an honest mistake; else this would be arguing for the sake of arguing. Just because someone throws on the colors black and yellow, that doesnt mean that he or she is a latin king. The picture was an obvious joke; if you follow the link's origin you would find other pictures of women dressing as men and portraying something or someone that they are not. This is not a femminist debate either; Latin Kings do allow female members, they are called Latin Queens,..but I highly doubt that they traditionally color fake mustaches on thier face in order to look like the guys. And finally, the three point crown hand symbol involves the thumb, pointer and pinky fingers being positioned in an upward fashion -- minimal research can verify this; it does not involve the thumb, pointer and middle fingers being positioned in a downward fashion.

Let's be honest, you found this picture to be humorous and so thought it would be funny to make that image very public by placing it in Wikipedia. I get the joke. Nevertheless, Wikipedia is not meant to humor you at the expense of others who look to Wikipedia for reliable information. I hope you understand — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zavier51 (talkcontribs) 01:30, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Yccs logo.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Yccs logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:16, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Youth Connection Leadership Academy, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Information icon Hi Kausticgirl! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at J. K. Rowling that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently been editing gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them which has been designated a contentious topic. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

J. K. Rowling is one such topic. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 04:45, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
