Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Question

[edit]

Hello! I see you are a physician. Do you have any connection in real life to any of the many Los Angeles medical pages you have edited? Have a nice day!HappyValleyEditor (talk) 17:05, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. You have a nice day too!— Preceding unsigned comment added by Katomin (talkcontribs)
Well Ok then! Have you read the policy on WP:COI? If you are editing pages for places you are connected to, it represents a conflict of interest. Also, please do not forget to sign your posts ....... HappyValleyEditor (talk) 21:06, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know. I have a peripheral connection but I wouldn't say I have a conflict of interest. I'm not paid and I am doing this voluntarily to disseminate information to the public. Good day. - Katomin

Hey Katomin, as somebody who is becoming a doctor I would ask you to slow way, way down and take conflict of interest seriously. I work on articles about health and medicine here in Wikipedia and I can't tell you how much editing I encounter from people trying to add promotional information (or denigrating information from people who say have axes to grind about side effects of drugs). People come here and screw up this amazing public resource under COI or advocacy all the time. And you know what, every one of them deludes themselves that they are "just disseminating information to the public". They are not. It is not something for you to brush off. And hopefully they are schooling you about conflict of interest in the actual practice of medicine.
We love experts in Wikipedia and WP:WikiProject Medicine has a bunch of doctors, professors, and med students active in it. But we all take COI seriously, and we see it warping content here. If you want to change your approach I would be happy to work with you. Jytdog (talk) 23:29, 3 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Cleaning up UCLA/VA Multicampus PM&R Residency Program

[edit]

Hello Katomin! Just an FYI that I have removed the long lists of doctors, chief residents and research publications on UCLA/VA Multicampus PM&R Residency Program. While this page will likely be deleted soon, I wanted to let you know that this kind of page is better suited ot be on the appropriate hospital or University web sites. Yes, we all love doctors and the work they do. However the kind of information this page was hosting is inappropriate to a global encyclopedia. In short, nobody really cares who the teaching faculty in a pain management program are, except for the prosepctive and current students or fellows of the program. If you have a look at other university pages on Wikipedia, you will not find lists of their faculty. That is because Wikipedia is not a directory of everything. It's an encyclopedia of notable things. I hope this helps to explain my deletions on that page. HappyValleyEditor (talk) 21:10, 12 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the information. Kato (talk) 20:26, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Dixie Aragaki

[edit]

The article Dixie Aragaki has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable. one ref found in news, nothing much elsewhere. Likely created by a Coi editor

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Kathy Fields (physician)

Hello Katomin,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Kathy Fields (physician) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

The article Bruce Ganz has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

[edit]

It might be a good idea to stop making pages for people with such thin notability. For example, while Dixie Aragaki is married to an astronaut, that does not make her notable as you aregued in your edit comment. The page is at articles for deletion and has three independent delete votes in additon to the nomination. That means it will be deleted shortly. It also means you have wasted the time of several editors by creating a non-notable page. Most of the other pages you have created, for your colleagues or interests, are for non-notable things or poeple-- for example Bruce Gans and the Medical residency program page that is now deleted. Your sense of what is notable is incorrect and is wasting other people's time. For someone or something to be in Wikipedia there needs to be wide reporting in independent sources. The best you could come up with for Ganz was a Bllomburg listing. That is not even reporting-- it is a listing. The other two are self-published or non-independent. Yes, they are important people inside a hospital. However hopefully you will see that their work is of little import to people outside of the hospital. Please stop creating low notability articles on people you are obviously connected to. It is a waste of time. (Alternately, you could read WP:GNG and WP:RS and learn how to create good articles.)HappyValleyEditor (talk) 17:28, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Acute Rehabilitation Unit, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ward. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Stanford university school of medicine department of dermatology requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your draft article, Draft:Dixie Aragaki

[edit]

Hello, Katomin. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Dixie Aragaki".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

An article you recently created, Heritage Provider Network, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources--not press releases. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. LA to FA 2022

[edit]
LA to FA 2022

Dear Katomin,

You're invited to a zoom call, taking place on February 11, with the goal of improving the article on Los Angeles to Featured article status! I often find it daunting to approach the Big Subjects on my own—so if you, like me, want a time to sit down with fellow dedicated editors and tackle something important and complex, this is the zoom for you! I, unfortunately, have no way to transmit snacks over zoom; but I trust you to exercise good judgement and discretion in selecting snacks of your own. Hope to see you there—if you're interested, add your name here!

Synovation Medical Group moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Synovation Medical Group, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. ––FormalDude talk 05:17, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Synovation medical group requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:34, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
