Help me!

[edit]

Please help me with...

Why my new page referencing the RockSteady Choir was deleted? This was just a start and I was intending to add sections with more credentials, pictures and references. Katiefelix2015 (talk) 23:08, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Katiefelix2015 (talk) 23:08, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The content that was there was written promotionally, and on top of that failed to explain why it met either the general notability guideline or the inclusion criteria for musicians and bands. Start anew at Draft:RockSteady Choir.--Launchballer 23:19, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Help me!

-- AntiCompositeNumber (Leave a message) 23:41, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please help me with...why my informational page for the RockSteady Choir was deleted. It is not self-promotion, it does not seek to advertise - it is strictly informational. The choir is the latest iteration of a choir that has been in existence since the early 1920's and is totally volunteer. It is fairly well known in Toronto, and I decided that probably it should have a basic Wikipedia entry. Please indicate why this was deleted. Thank you, James Katiefelix2015 (talk) 23:27, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Katiefelix2015 (talk) 23:27, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Who is James? Wikipedia insists upon one person per account. I will leave it to another helper to answer your question.--Launchballer 23:38, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The page was determined to be written too much like an advertisement, which violates Wikipedia policies on neutral point of view. The page also did not show that the subject met the notability guidelines for musical groups. Notability is a measure of how many reliable, independent sources have written about the subject. If you have more sources that weren't included in the first article, you can start again at WP:WIZARD. If you need to get the content from the original article back for reference purposes, contact the administrators at WP:REFUND.
On a completely unrelated note, I have two standard questions that I would like you to answer: How many people have access to this account? and Do you have any connection with the RockSteady Choir? -- AntiCompositeNumber (Leave a message) 23:41, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of The RockSteady Choir

[edit]

The article The RockSteady Choir has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Failure to cite any references or to even claim notability. I cannot find any WP:RSes to support the group's notability (WP:GNG or WP:MUSICBIO).

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with The RockSteady Choir. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Since this article was nominated for deletion, it now goes through due process to (maybe) give it a second chance. I know you blanked the article, and normally it could then be just immediately deleted, but because of the nomination, this article should now go through due process. If people vote for it to be kept, there is a chance this article can remain. Don't give up yet! Optakeover(U)(T)(C) 06:54, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:RockSteady Choir

[edit]

Hello, Katiefelix2015. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "RockSteady Choir".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 00:18, 26 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
