Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Prof. Ayyappanpillai Ajayaghosh, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Department of Science and Technology (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion nomination of Nightingales Home Health Specialist

[edit]

Hello Karthikbv402,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Nightingales Home Health Specialist for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Dear @The Drover's Wife: Could you please help me with pointers on how can i improve this article. I was very careful of the fact that the article does not sound promotional while i was creating this article. I have used independent sources covering about the topic. Please let me know

Karthikbv402 (talk) 07:29, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Almost the entire article has problems with promotional language, including but not limited to:

"...Bangalore born leader and a management thinker."
"...Under his management, Nokia built its entire services portfolio..."
"...He is credited for driving Nokia’s brand from No. 71 to No. 1 in the country" (with a source that says no such thing)
"...His contribution during this time have become case studies at Harvard University, ISB and other Ivy League Institutes." (big claim not backed up)
"...He has been the driving force in bringing PepsiCo’s nutrition portfolio to the forefront"
"...He is known for being the key driver for portfolio transformation and depended consumer engagement with flagship brands." (this is so blatant it reads like a cover letter for a job)
long list of trivial awards

In additional, most of the sources don't meet Wikipedia's standards for reliable sources or aren't independent of the subject, and what is left doesn't amount to significant coverage. This needs a lot of work if it is to even come close to meeting Wikipedia standards. The Drover's Wife (talk) 08:18, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks @The Drover's Wife: Thanks for sharing your views in detail. This will help me improve my submission and make it much better. I will make a note of all these points and try to edit the article. Karthikbv402 (talk) 15:49, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Draft:D Shivakumar, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Thanks @DGG: for sharing your views in detail. This will help me improve the article further. I have drawn references to articles from LiveMint, EconomicTimes, Business Standard etc to make the article notable, these are notable publishers here in India. Let me know if you think otherwise. Also could you please help point out the content that you feel is not neutral and sounds promotional, i kept this in mind while writing this article, however, there might be a few misses, please help me improve my submission. checking again--more in a day or two. DGG ( talk ) 15:04, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Dear @DGG:, Let me know if you had a chance to review the article sources. Let me know your thoughts on how i could improve.. Karthikbv402 (talk) 05:44, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
There are two problems: promotionalism , and notability
promotional writing is what the subject would like readers to know about themselves, in contrast to encyclopedic writing, which is what a general reader might want to know. Information directed towards prospective users is considered promotional . Details of subscription periods, and a list of cites where available, are of interest only too prospective customers. As these change frequently , they belong on the company web site, which is where anyone interested in being a customer would automatically look. Wording explaining how good the service is, counts as promotional also. , eg "but also create a new world where people can own cars and get the same comfort without having to buy them"
References to support notability of companies , according to WP:NCORP must be references providing substantial coverage from third-party independent reliable sources, not press releases or mere announcements, and not devoted to initial funding or opening new branches, and similar non-encyclopedic details. Interviews with the founders where the founders say whatever they please do not count as truly independent sources, no matter where published. (It's true otherwise reputable newspapers sometimes include this interviews, but all they really show is the good work of the firms press agent.)

Looking again at the sources you mention, the first Economic Times article is a general article, mentioning Zoom only for some really trivial innovations, like giving he people who deliver he cars scooters to ride back in. This is not comprehensive coverage. Fortune-India is an interview of the promotional type mentioned, and therefore not independent. Economic times 2018 is a cross be

You may have noticed that there are several hundred thousand articles in WP accepted in earlier years that do not meet these standards. We need to either upgrade or remove them. I and many others are working on it, but it will take years to finish the job. The least we can do is not add to them.

But, as usual, I will leave further reviews to others DGG ( talk ) 04:08, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dear @DGG:, i have attempted to fix the article basis your feedback, please review and let me know your thoughts.Karthikbv402 (talk) 11:22, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
There remain tas problems:
Using the company name too much
List of investors
List of cities - should be "22 major cities in India" -- anyone who wants thedetails would see the website.
Emphasis of where the proprietors come from &their education, and adjectives describing their experience.
If I, as someone without any particular interest in the company, came across it, I wouldprobably decide not to spend the effort working on an article for it at this stage. DGG ( talk ) 22:39, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
