Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Thank you for contributing edits to Los Angeles County that were made in good faith, but have been deemed not to contribute positively to the article. These edits have thus been reverted. Hello Fettlemap, can you help me understand how I can properly link "Los Angeles County Office of Education" to something like a Wikipedia page or external link? As one of my clients, I noticed they are mentioned in the Los Angeles County article but unlike other organizations there is no page for it. Thanks!Karlomarcelo (talk) 17:48, 28 January 2021 (UTC)Karlo [reply]

Wikipedia is not a directory so there has to be sufficient reliable sources to establish notability to create an article so not every agency has an article. Also you would have to comply with the Conflict of Interest policy. Fettlemap (talk) 18:46, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Based on my reading of the https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:PAID, I am disclosing my paid client work for the Los Angeles County Office of Education, in which I am helping them fact check they way LACOE is described in Wikipedia.Karlomarcelo (talk) 18:59, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

(talk) Thanks for those links! I read the Reliable sources and Notability. I started with the Reliable sources article and found a number of news articles, academic journal articles, and other organizations and schools describing LACOE, I've pasted below some examples I've found to meet the Reliable Sources test. Are these the right types of sources to be assessing if LACOE is Notable?

Academic journals: http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.986.1869&rep=rep1&type=pdf#page=48 https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/0022487100051003002 https://www.elibrary.ru/item.asp?id=5386838

Other organizations: https://www.cde.ca.gov/sdprofile/details.aspx?cds=19101990000000 https://www.lachsa.net/overview https://achieve.lausd.net/site/default.aspx?PageType=3&DomainID=4&ModuleInstanceID=4466&ViewID=6446EE88-D30C-497E-9316-3F8874B3E108&RenderLoc=0&FlexDataID=73551&PageID=1

Thanks again, Karlo Karlomarcelo (talk) 19:21, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

These should be fine. I put that warning in with the Office of Education website on mind. Extensive use this type of material (see WP:MISSION) creates an overly promotional, non-encyclopedic article. While a link to the website is included, the article should not follow the format, layout, and style of the website. Fettlemap (talk) 02:38, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
