Welcome

[edit]
Hello Karen Elizabeth Price, and welcome to Wikipedia! As you are getting started, you may benefit from following some of the links below, which will help you get the most out of Wikipedia. You certainly don't need to read them all now, but it may help to keep them around as a future quick reference guide. If you have any questions you can ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages by clicking or by typing four tildes "~~~~"; this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you are already loving Wikipedia you might want to consider being "adopted" by a more experienced editor or joining a WikiProject to collaborate with others in creating and improving articles of your interest. Click here for a directory of all the WikiProjects. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field. Happy editing!  7  07:51, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A friendly note on potential conflicts of interest

[edit]

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Feel free to reply right below here and I will do my best to explain the COI issue if you have any questions. Thanks.  7  07:51, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of HouseQuake for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article HouseQuake is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/HouseQuake until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Grognard 123chess456 (talk) 22:30, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Note

[edit]

Your contributions are appreciated, but Wikipedia takes issue when someone writes about topics with which they have a vested interest. As a user named Karen Elizabeth Price, it is improper that you write about a film written and directed by Karen Elizabeth Price. Please review WP:COI and WP:NAU and, for insights in article creation and sourcing, please visit WP:PRIMER. I have personally taken a hand in expanding and sourcing the article to show it meets inclusion criteria set by WP:NF.[1] If you have questions, please feel free to ask on my talk page. Cheers, Schmidt, Michael Q. 02:24, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the response on my talk page. Have patience yourself and others with the sometimes confusing learning processes here, and always feel free to ask questions. First lesson: if you use four tildes after a posting, the system will automatically sign your username to comments and add a date-stamp. That's "~~~~". Second lesson, you can customize your userpage, (click on this redlink: User:Karen Elizabeth Price) to tell something about what brings you to Wikipedia as a contributor. WP:PRIMER is a great place to begin and you can always ask for general assistance by posting a request at Wikipedia:Help desk. Cheers, Schmidt, Michael Q. 05:45, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
