User talk:Kar98
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia!
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- If you haven't already, please add your name to the new user log to let others know a little about yourself.
- Read the article describing how to edit a page and feel free to experiment in the Sandbox.
- When editing pages, use the preview button before submitting and try to fill in the summary box for every edit.
- Eventually, read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk or ask me on my talk page.
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!
Jrdioko
P.S. One last helpful hint. To sign your posts like I did above (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).
Sorry about having to list Whaley House as a possible copyright infringement. It's just that when a new user starts posting material that appears on another web site, the overwhelming percentage of the time it's a copyright violation. The page is now restored.
I'm assuming that the creator of the page, User:68.92.125.119, was you before creating a username. You may want to request a change of attribution for the edits, although that tends to take a while. It takes developer access, and there aren't many of them.
You may also want to take a look at the work done by JCarriker, who has displayed quite an interest in the Marshall, Texas area. -- Cyrius|✎ 05:13, May 12, 2004 (UTC)
- Not a problem, it was a reasonable assumption the text was merely ripped off, giving the odds and the lack of a proper username. Yes, 68.92.*.* was me, but it does hardly matter /who/ provides the content, as long as the facts are correct and nobody's rights have been infringed upon. I did notice JCarriker's work, and as I'm learning the Wikipedia syntax, I'm sure I will be able to contact him through the page pretty soon ;) -- Kar98 11:01, 12 May 2004 (UTC)
- Hephaestos has nominated the Marshall article to be a featured article. Pleasevote on the nomination.

- Likely, I stood right in front of your house to get a of the Allen House. BTW, Who knew the Viaduct was soooo long; liked to kill me walking over it. I think the current Old Courthouse has nebulous origins, ironically I may have been the person to upload it, so I'm pulling it to avoid the possibility for trouble. -JCarriker 22:28, August 2, 2005 (UTC)

Image Tagging for Image:Threeoaks2004.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Threeoaks2004.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Unspecified source for Image:Whaley9081820.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Whaley9081820.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:33, 28 January 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 10:33, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Threeoaks2004.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Threeoaks2004.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Shyam (T/C) 10:34, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. [edit]Speedy deletion nomination of Katy O'Brian (American actress)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Katy O'Brian (American actress), requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. (See section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. ―Susmuffin Talk 04:35, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Katy O'Brian (American actress)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Katy O'Brian (American actress) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Cahk (talk) 09:59, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
Katy O'Brian moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Katy O'Brian, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Atlantic306 (talk) 15:06, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
Explain to me which points exactly didn't have independent sources. Kar98 (talk) 15:38, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
- IMDb is not a reliable source, tvmaze is a listing but the interview does have some prose so counts as one source but more WP:Reliable sources are needed to pass WP:GNG otherwise it is likely to be deleted sooner or later, imv Atlantic306 (talk) 21:56, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
