—Anne Delong (talk) 05:28, 25 March 2014 (UTC)Category:Biophysical Society Awards
Hi Kappock -- thanks a lot for working on categories, and especially award categories. We really need editors involved in those sections. However, I suggested that we delete the category you just created at category:Biophysical Society Awards. Because of the very limited functionality of categories here in Wikipedia, it's often better to simply "list" and link in article pages. Categories are most useful for the trees, but we tend to be very careful to not create "eponymous" categories -- because although the intent may be to gather and highlight those members of the category, the actual effect is to make them harder to find. I'm happy to talk with you further about this, but you may want to read the overcategorization page, and of course, please feel free to participate at the CFD discussion for this category. If you browse around those pages, you'll see a lot of categories and reasoning discussed, which may also be helpful. -- Cheers, Lquilter (talk) 18:06, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
