License tagging for Image:Heikegani.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Heikegani.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:56, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Kendavissaucejar.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Kendavissaucejar.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.
If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.
Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 04:53, 10 November 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Chucknelson.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Chucknelson.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Kanoyes says: This really isn't worth the time I put into it. The Chuck Nelson page needed a picture. I created one, scanned it myself and went through the trouble of posting it. Said image was declared illegal. Then I found a another free image and asked copyright permission from creator of another image if it was ok to use it. Creator has given explicit permission through website notes and email to use photograph and encouraged posting. I formatted picture for wiki and posted complete with link showing explicit permission. After all this image is to be deleted anyway and I was pointed to a number of bureaucratic mazes at which I could console myself for my Quixotic efforts. Follow the rules and try to do things the right way and it doesn't matter at all on wikipedia because there are more destroyers than creators in the current wiki environment.
Wikipedia gets more Kafkian by the minute. To wikipedia, I say, 'whatever, keep fighting battles where there are none to be fought, keep creating conflicts where there are none that exist, keep wasting time because it is yours to waste. I can't waste my time again like this'
Donating copyrighted materials
[edit]Kanoyes, you may want to read WP:donating copyright materials to see what is needed for the images to be used on Wikipedia. Section 4 covers donating material that is already online elsewhere. noq (talk) 19:00, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Trampled by Turtles (band).jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Trampled by Turtles (band).jpg, which you've sourced to Joe Cunningham. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones (Talk) 23:14, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
