Thank you for your recent contribution in the form of the creation of the article on Arthur Rhames. In the future, please consider Wikipedia guidlines when contributing and include proper footnote citations. Thank you. DRosenbach (Talk | Contribs) 15:58, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I'm working on adding references as we speak KamandiTheLastBoyOnEarth 16:02, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's evident that you are new here, and so we will help you adapt to the environment without overburdening you with rules and regulations. At the same time, there are a few rules which you should know off the bat to prevent misunderstandings and problems.
  • When responding to a post on a talk page, convention has it to respond on the next line after placing a colon (:). This colon, as you can see by clicking on the "edit this page" tab above, inserts an indentation, allowing a reader to differentiate between you and the person with whom you are posting.
  • When posting anything to a talk or discussion page, please remember to sign your post by inserting four tildes (the little curvy line on the leftmost upper button on the keyboard). This will place a time stamp along with your formal userpage link. As you posted (but which I modified), your name "Kamandi" already links to an article about a DC comic with the same title. You mustn't type out your whole user name -- simple four tildes.
  • In the future, to avoid being tagged for deletion, articles can be written on your computer in a word processing program and placed here when ready or, if you would like to use Wikipedia, you can create userfied pages (User:KamandiTheLastBoyOnEarth/Arthur Rhames, for example) to work on pages that you'd like to create but haven't had a chance to make them up for public concumption. Once an article exists, it is subject to all of the guidlines that Wikipedia imposes on itself in order to maintain a certain semblance of order and formality.
Once again, welcome, and if you need anything, please contact me on my talk page, as I will not be checking here often. DRosenbach (Talk | Contribs) 16:26, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the helpful tips. I'll be improving this article throughout the day, as well as bringing it to the attention of my co-author, who's more experienced with sourcing and referencing a Wiki article. Hopefully, in a short time-span, we'll have a fully compliant and informative article happening. KamandiTheLastBoyOnEarth 16:26, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Good job so far! Why don't you put something on your userpage so the link doesn't show up in red -- makes you seem an ametuer and draw the attention of editors to your work. DRosenbach (Talk | Contribs) 20:30, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Arthur Rhames has been reverted. Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: '\bmyspace\.com' (link(s): http://http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=43070636) . If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! The Myspace link was to a home video that's in the public domain. It shouldn't be reverted for that reason. KamandiTheLastBoyOnEarth 16:26, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
