October 2019
[edit]Hi, Kaiser Lachance, welcome to Wikipedia. I put some work into removing all the "Dr." you had added to the article Stanley K. Bernstein, and used an informative edit summary, "Rv the additions of "Dr". Wikipedia does not do that; see MOS:DOCTOR". I just noticed that you have ignored this, and put back the "Dr." all over the article. I ask you to please read the guideline MOS:DOCTOR. I have removed the "Dr." yet again, together with the rest of your tendentious edits. Editing this biography seems to be your sole interest on Wikipedia. Do you have any relationship with the subject of the article? Please see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, and respond below. Bishonen | talk 20:55, 8 October 2019 (UTC).
Conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Kaiser Lachance. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Bishonen | talk 21:10, 8 October 2019 (UTC).
October 2019 continued
[edit]Thank you Bishonen for your efforts and the Conflict of Interest information. I did not intend to cause you or any editors additional or unnecessary efforts on this entry.
I've read the information on the circumstances of a conflict of interest and will be following the required steps to ensure transparency. Thanks again for your help, and please know no missteps were intentional but simply due to lack of information.
- OK, I understand that. Thank you. I see you attempted to add a COI disclosure to the article itself, and then removed it, apparently realizing it didn't go well there. I've moved it to the top of the article talkpage, here. Bishonen | talk 11:40, 23 October 2019 (UTC).
