Just wanted to say thanks for all the great work you're doing finding sources for these articles. I'd like to work on expanding Filipinos in Singapore and Filipinos in Malaysia over the next several days, hope we can help each other out. One favour --- I'm trying to create some guidelines for these kinds of articles, could you have a look at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (immigrant ethnic groups) and leave any comments on the talk page? Thanks, cab (talk) 09:31, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Island Pacific Supermarket, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Island Pacific Supermarket seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Island Pacific Supermarket, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Kagoikunai! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Lia Andrea Ramos - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Filipino Canadian, but we cannot accept original research. Original research also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. 117Avenue (talk) 04:16, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Filipino Americans

[edit]

Please see Talk:Filipino Americans#Number: 4M or 2.8M. Thanks. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 14:44, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Why do you keep removing the entire Filipino American population from the article? Do you not see or refer to actual US Census Data? The Bureau itself counts full and partial Filipino ancestry under the same group/category. The 2018 data itself shows 4.1 million Filipino Americans. Kagoikunai (talk) 15:14, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have opened a discussion about this at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Edit warring and refusal to engage in discussion. You are encouraged to participate. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 19:09, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at Filipino Americans shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
Please join the discussion at Talk:Filipino Americans#Number: 4M or 2.8M. Failure to join that discussion will result in a revert of your recent changes. You may be blocked from editing for edit warring. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 16:59, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

With all due respect, there’s no edit war. The data is within those official pages that are citing the population. Kagoikunai (talk) 17:47, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Just a friendly reminder about this. If I don't hear otherwise, in a couple of days I'm going to restore my version as that currently reflects the consensus on the talk page. -- Rublov (talk) 18:03, 24 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
