Sometimes the short amount of characters allowed in edit summaries isn't enough to make people understand. So I am going to expand upon what you are doing wrong. But after this, I will begin to send out official warnings.

  1. If someone is credited as a writer under the name "John Smith", we write their name as John Smith. They may be known as Jack Smitty, but we write it as John Smith. We do not write it as Jack Smitty, nor as John "Jack Smitty" Smith. You can link to Jack Smitty by using a pipelink [ Jack Smitty|John Smith ]. It must remain John Smith.
  2. If someone is credited as a writer on numerous songs on the same album - for song 1, we write the first and last name (John Smith). For song 2, we write just the last name (Smith).
    1. If there are two different people named Smith that are credited as writers on the same album, we write John Smith and Tom Smith the first time they appear, the same as we did above. But for future instances, we do not use just the last name. We use first initial, and last name. We write J. Smith and T. Smith. They do not need to appear on the same song, just the same album.
  3. If someone with a WP article is credited on an album, we link to that page the first time their name appears. We do not link to their page every time their name appears.

There are many many rules and guidelines for posting on Wikipedia. The above three are just the beginning. Kellymoat (talk) 20:44, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Julian Simmons (producer) moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Julian Simmons (producer), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline or the music subject notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the confirms on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. Hello, KZMelling. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Julian Simmons".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 22:06, 2 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jin Jin (musician), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Lena and Kent Jones (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:50, 6 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, KZMelling. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. – Athaenara 08:02, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I am not a spammer or advertiser. However I do have an affiliation to the people who I have created/amended pages for. I work in music and have worked with these people and believe they deserve a page, or I am purely up-dating pages with current release information. I have tried very hard to only present facts, no hyperbole, no adjectives etc and to link to credible sources to back up anything I have written. I do apologise for not making my affiliations clear but I would like to be unblocked so that I can continue to keep the Jin jin (Musician) page up-to-date. I won't attempt to re-instate the other pages I had started to create if these people are not seen as well known enough yet - although I still believe they're as well known as many others on Wikipedia!

Decline reason:

You seem to be saying that you will continue to violate WP:COI and WP:PAID if unblocked; that will not be permitted. To be unblocked, you will need to agree to comply with those policies, agree to not edit about anything for which you have a conflict of interest, and tell what you will edit about instead as a general contributor. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 17:38, 5 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
