Proposed deletion of Kevin Hardcastle[edit]

The article Kevin Hardcastle has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Hello, KHardcase. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Kevin Hardcastle, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). I am declined the prod to delete this article. If you are in fact the subject of this article it would be a conflict of interest for you to edit the article. Your article[edit]

I understand how confusing it can be when you're a new editor who's not familiar with how all of our rules work, so I just wanted to post here to reassure you that it's not the end of the world. While it's true that we discourage people from starting an article about themselves, the fact that you did that does not mean that the article has to be deleted right away — what we do in that situation is check to see if the notability and sourceability pass our inclusion criteria. If they do, then we keep the article anyway and just clean it up to ensure that the tone and formatting and structure are complying with our rules. We don't automatically delete all articles right away just because the creator technically had a conflict of interest — if the issue is fixable, then we keep the article and just fix it.

You do have a valid WP:AUTHOR pass on the award win and the fact that Debris has been reviewed in major publications — so I've made a few minor adjustments to the article, but trust me that it's entirely keepable. We want to avoid publishing any information about you that isn't properly referenced to a reliable source (this is actually to protect your personal privacy rights), so if there's anything else you want to add to the article then I'd request that you follow what you were told above about posting it to the talk page so that we can review whether it's properly sourceable or not — but please, please don't think that you did anything horribly wrong, because you didn't, or that the article has to be deleted, because it doesn't.
