Re: D-STAR page changes

[edit]

Hi. I remember axing the bit about Matt Yellen & leaving the note saying "who is he?". I'm working right now so I can't say much, but I will in a few hours.

I might have removed a reference that was a link to the icom forum. I removed that because forums aren't generally considered high quality sources.

But what you're saying is that Matt was really instrumental in the development of D-STAR. We can surely re-add the material. No one is likely to challenge what we're saying. I'd just rather use high quality sources in the article.

Thanks for asking & I'll jump in here later. My call is KI6MU and I'm in the Portland, Oregon area. Dawnseeker2000 21:52, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

D'oh... I realize now that I probably should have just left that bit in the article. You had the ARRL ref, so that was perfect. I think that what I could have done is place an "expand this" tag in the area so as to get some help in bulking it up. I guess what I was thinking was that it was just a minimal part of the article that didn't fully explain why he (Matt) was significant.
So now after understanding more I will replace what I took out, but we should expand on it to help paint the picture. Dawnseeker2000 00:28, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
