Welcome!

Hello, KBR, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Please do not add external links to commercial websites which are not articles sources, as you did to French language. This may be considered spam or vandalism. NTK 05:15, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How do I properly add references to 2 language support sites? Both are FREE and do not charge any fees. I don't think they should be excluded from the listings for people looking for French language support. KBR 05:39, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please give me the links of the sites? --GeorgeMoneyTalk  Contribs 05:47, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I left a message on the talk page of the person who deleted your links and asked him why he deleted them. I will wait for the answer. Click here for the discussion on that user's page --GeorgeMoneyTalk  Contribs 06:00, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize; I was reverting vandalism that was made to this article concurrently with the links added by KBR. When I checked the podcast link added by KBR I actually clicked on the wrong one, that was already linked to, which appeared to be a commercial/ad-supported site. The links added by KBR do indeed appear totally noncommercial/donation-supported as far as I can tell. I have no objection to re-adding these links, except that there are so many links already that the page is cluttered and in danger of turning into a web directory. I suggest removing the ad-supported podcast link already there if KBR's links are replaced. NTK 06:10, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Helpme

[edit]

Thank you for clarifing this, as I was really confused and am new to posting here and I don't want to make a big mistake. The sites are: www.frenchlearningcenter.com and www.frenchpodclass.com. If that's not a good place to put them French language, then where do you suggest? Any guidance would be appreciated. Also, why does this line not break properly when I preview it? KBR 03:17, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The text came out without a break because the line started with a space (after the {{helpme}} template).
For example.
Ok, the links. Wikipedia:External_links has some guidance on this. Basically, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia - not a place to learn French. I don't think there is any article where these links should be used. Perhaps where you might learn French (and hence these link may be ok) at Wikibooks - but I have no idea on what their policies about external links are.--Commander Keane 03:28, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I can see what you mean. Probably the reason why your edit to add the links was reverted is that it was thought to be advertising - it was thought you were promoting those websites. The external links for French language are in a rather disgusting state - by all means, to keep things fair add your links to pile.--Commander Keane 03:22, 19 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your editing of the Mobley page has been reviewed and, as needed, reverted. Much of the editing was in violation of WP:BLP, WP:OR, WP:MOS, WP:POV, et al. Please read or re-read these sections. Thanks. Quis separabit? 18:42, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

KBR-Your edit here, perhaps suffering from other ailments, certainly failed to follow MOS. Bold? Block? Both were not appropriate. --Epeefleche (talk) 05:16, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for cleaning up a lot of the article; I think these comments should be on the article not in my private page. However since this is where you have chosen to post I will respond here.

  • Thank you for cleaning up a lot of the "text format" of the Sharif Mobley page.
  • Thank you for cleaning up some of the "bold lines" and "other edit formats" of the Sharif Mobley page.

I have read much of the requested list of wiki-isms from User:Rms125a@hotmail.com and if User:Rms125a@hotmail.com or others think something in particular is a problem please address the specific case which would be much more instructive than a blanket "bad bad bad" post here. It would be more helpful if the discussion was actually on the Sharif Mobley page too so that the historical context of edits and reasoning is properly maintained.

The injudicious removal of content on the Sharif Mobley page should not happen without discussion. At the moment I am the only one adding content to that page with associated documentation. I appreciate any formatting corrections. The topic of the page is "sensitive" and removal of content needs to be done with due consideration. I post all intentions of removals prior to doing so, it would be helpful if others did the same especially if they are not familiar with the topic.

In regard to the COI tag posted by User:Rms125a@hotmail.com on the Sharif Mobley page I state here for the record:

  • I have no relationship whatsoever with any journalist reporting on the Sharif Mobley case
  • I have no relationship whatsoever with any lawyer or legal entity supporting or representing Sharif Mobley
  • I have no relationship whatsoever with any relative of Sharif Mobley, or the Mobley family
  • I have no relationship financial or otherwise with journalists reporting on Sharif Mobley
  • I have no relationship financial or otherwise with any lawyer or legal entity supporting or representing Sharif Mobley
  • I have no relationship financial or otherwise with the family of Sharif Mobley
  • All articles posted by me on the Sharif Mobley page come from MSM publications or official documents as posted by the US Government, UN organizations or other bona fide sources.
  • I receive no compensation for any posts on Wikipedia.
  • I do not Facebook, Twitter, or use social media.
  • I am not a member of the US Government, Military and I have no "official" capacity other than Citizen of the United States.
  • I am not a member of any law enforcement agency nor do I have any voluntary relationship with any espionage or surveillance organization anywhere in the world.

I look forward to the additional help in keeping the Sharif Mobley page neat and tidy and within all Wikipedia parameters. KBR (talk) 06:50, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What and where do I post this? Should I repost the above info on the Sharif Mobley page or on my user front page? I'm not sure I understand exactly what I am supposed to demonstrate. I did try post a "Helpme!" ticket when I realized there are other posts about Mobley in different parts of the wikisystem. I don't understand that response either.
It ain't so easy when you don't know how. (sigh) Thank you for your comment. KBR (talk) 01:52, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Help me!

[edit]

Please help me with the Special section: Alleged militants in the War on Terror who have lived in United States

At the bottom of the Sharif Mobley and other pages is a special section on the War on Terror. If you open this box up it lists a number of categories. One of them relates to al-Qaeda. That list contains the name Sharif Mobley.

I would like to request several changes to that placement.

  • Complete removal of his name from the list.
The Yemen Government dropped all charges of "terrorism/terrorist activity" and there are no further legal proceedings against him.
Maintaining his name on that list without any legal basis is biased.

or

  • Creating a new subset: Currently held without charge.
Sharif Mobley disappeared from the Yemen court systems in Feb 27, 2014 and his held in an unknown location.

Can someone assist in directing this to the people maintaining that section?
