I thought that was a legitimate occupation, Klansman. But if you don't think it is dignified, I won't argue further.Acme Plumbing (talk) 06:11, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
Hi, I saw your comment on the history tab after your deletion of this section. I can understand that the section may need to be amended and indeed, suggested in Talk a month ago that the China Toy controversy and Camel Cull controversy be put under a single banner. However, the wholesale removal of a section that hit every major newspaper, radio news broadcast and television broadcast in Australia without putting an explanation as to why it was removed into the talk section is inappropriate. If you believe that the section needs to be edited to bring its size down, I would have appreciated you noting as much in the talk section so that the article can be worked on properly, rather than merely censoring it so arbitrarily.
I disagree with your assertion that the section is not biographical. The statement was made by Erin Burnett on a public broadcast; an apology was likewise made on a public broadcast and news sources around the world published news on it, of which I could not find anything that was favourable. In what way was this episode, that was so major as to result in an apology (of sorts) by Ms Burnett, not part of Erin Burnett's biography?
After leaving the story in talk for a month and finding no objections, to have it removed in such a manner without so much as a decent note in talk is really rather offensive. I look forward to receiving an explanation as to why, so that the section can be finally added to her biography in a state worthy of Wikipedia. CSJoz (talk) 05:12, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
- (Responded at your talk, feel free to respond there, as well...)
- Some day, years from now, when Erin Burnett passes away, we will not write on her tombstone: "Business journalist, anchorwoman, known for The Camel Cull Controversy." Sum it up in a sentence, maybe two, refactor it into a new "Controversy" section with one or two sentences (at most) on the Chinese toy "controversy," and you might, might muster wp:undue. user:J aka justen (talk) 05:26, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
I get your point, but let's be honest about the information that tends to be in biographies too: her gaffs appear to be fairly regular and high-profile, and we're unlikely to include on her gravestone, "she presented 'street signs' from 2-3pm"! I appreciate your speedy response and I will revise the controversies section into a single section to take into account the George W Bush incident; the China toys incident; and the Australian camels incident. CSJoz (talk) 05:38, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not familiar enough with her work to know whether her gaffes are indeed as frequent and as significant as you say, but even if they are, you can't synthesize that into her biography. You'd need to pull together a reliable source making that observation (like Media Matters, perhaps?). I cut down the Chinese "section" to as short as I could get it, although it still seems undue given the lack of reliable sourcing for any surrounding "controversy." Still, it's a place to start, perhaps... Good luck. user:J aka justen (talk) 05:48, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
Michael Flood has edited an entry about himself (one you personally tidied up) and bulk removed any contentious material about himself. (this edit [1] ) This looks like a case of Conflict of Interest to me. I have reinstated two of the subheadings he removed but I would like you to have a closer inspection of his edit if you are willing?

Hey, Wikipedia:notability does not apply to content within articles. If you have any further comments, please head to Talk:Blue Shield of California. Superm401 - Talk 23:21, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
- The "notability" of an event does apply, however. I've discussed further there, however, and the article is on my watchlist. user:J aka justen (talk) 23:22, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
