Information icon Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Materialscientist (talk) 02:37, 13 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jyoti halder requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. GABgab 14:49, 20 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but it appears you have written or added to an article about yourself, at Jyoti Halder. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Jyoti Halder requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Self promotion and using Wikipedia as a social media platform

[edit]

Jyoti, Wikipedia is not a social media platform like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn, so we don't treat it as such. You have tried repeatedly to create articles about yourself at Jyoti halder and Jyoti Halder, as well as at Draft:Jyoti Halder, User:Jyoti halder/sandbox, User:Jyoti halder/sendbox and your user page. (These have all been deleted.) Writing about yourself is not what Wikipedia is for, and if you continue this self-promotion, you will very likely wind up with your account blocked. You are welcome to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, so perhaps you can find a way to do so that doesn't include writing about yourself.

When we write articles about various subjects, the subjects need to be notable. Per our general notability guideline, "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list. My uncle Charlie is a fantastic carpenter, but no major newspaper or magazine has ever written about him, and his work is not detailed in any books, so I can't write an article about him. He's not notable. The same goes for you. Only when you have been written about in great detail by reliable mainstream sources (not interviews) would you be considered notable by Wikipedia's standards. Aaaand, generally speaking, writing about yourself is tacky and ethically questionable, because people who write about themselves have a conflict of interest, making it very difficult for them to write objectively about themselves. If and when you become notable, someone else would surely write an article about you without your prodding. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:14, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
