AfD nomination of James Wannerton[edit]

I have nominated James Wannerton, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/James Wannerton. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Deiz talk 06:39, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi James. I didn't actually notice you created the article about yourself. While I have no problem with the decision to keep the article, it should obviously be noted that creating and editing articles about yourself is strongly discouraged per WP:COI. However, you don't seem to have edited the article since it's creation so I trust this will not be an issue in future. Deiz talk 01:19, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, Jwannerton. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Martinevans123 (talk) 22:39, 4 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
