Page moved

[edit]

Hi,

I hope that your assignment is going well. I just wanted to let you know that I have moved Wikipedia:Students Coping with CSU Tuition Costs, a page that you've worked on, to User:Criss.sanchez/Students Coping with CSU Tuition Costs. This is because it was in the incorrect namespace. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Best of luck,

  • Hi Jvnnifern31, Criss.sanchez, while the content posted is very passionate, it doesn't fit Wikipedia's guidelines for content as it is a personal essay and reflection on tuition costs at your university. You may be able to create a subsection in the main article for CSU about tuition, however it would only be able to contain a very, very small amount of what is included here, most likely a very heavily re-worked version of the first section. It would have to be content that is specifically about CSU and not tuition or financial assistance in general, as those topics have their own articles. The general rule of thumb is that if general content can be summed up in another article and linked to in the text, then that's what should be done. (IE, if I were talking about Bugs Bunny I would just link to the article about rabbits rather than going into depth about the animal in the cartoon character's article, to use a more simplistic example.)
You would also need to be very careful to avoid inserting your own conclusions and original research into the section - it's fine and very recommended to do this with personal essays but we can't do this with Wikipedia entries. We can only include conclusions that have been explicitly stated in a reliable source by an authority on the topic. I can give some recommendations about what should be included and I would recommend that you work on this in one of your sandboxes first, before adding this to the main article for the university.
