Lamu District=Lamu Islands?
Hi, I see you have contributed to Kenyan geography, so I thought I could put the following question to you: I´m presently editing some on the Lamu Archipelago (=Lamu Islands), which include Lamu Island, (with Lamu Town), Manda Island and Pate Island. I recently found that there was a stub called Lamu District. My question is: what is the difference between Lamu District and Lamu Archipelago? Do you know? (Besides the obvious, that one denotes a geographical aerea, and the other an administrative one.) Do they not cover the same aerea? If you have any knowledge about this, I would greatly appriciate it if you could reply on Talk:Lamu District. Thanks. Regards, Huldra 16:11, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
Hi Julius, I saw that you added an external link to Kenyan cricket team. You may be interested in joining this project. We have no Kenyans are part of our team and it would be great if we did. Thanks GizzaChat © 05:54, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

- Let me explain...The article was written in German, I removed all the text and replaced with one English sentence. AVB didn't like it, but the situation was soon solved. My policy is that if an article is important enough to be included in Wikipedia it should never get deleted, no matter how badly it is written. Replacing it with a very short description is not the best possible solution, but easy to carry out. Since then someone has expanded the article, which, luckily had not been deleted. Julius Sahara 18:54, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
I have deleted this page per WP:CSD#A7. The article does not state the artist's notability. If you like, you are welcome to re-create the article, citing reliable sources that establish notability. An article that simply says, "X is a musician from place Y" is not sufficient for an encyclopedia entry. -- Merope 15:31, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, it wasn't well written, but I'm not too happy about the way it was deleted. I'm not a expert on Makossa music, but after a short research I was more than convinced that this artists is notable enough for a wikipedia article. Despite my disagreement, it was deleted as speedy, even though I suggested using AfD instead. Then there could had been time to expand then article. Julius Sahara 15:54, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Mathare
Hi Julius. I see you found the article on Mathare I created (I noticed you had it on your to do list via the whatlinkshere feature.) You're obviously more knowledgeable about Kenya than me, so I'm wondering if you could help me with this question: Are Mathare and Mathare Valley the same place? Some websites that I've found refer to them as if they were one, while others treat Mathare Valley as one of several slums that comprise Mathare. For now, I've redirected Mathare Valley to Mathare, and tagged it with {{R with possibilities}}. Picaroon9288 21:44, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hello. Mathare Valley, as its name suggest, a valley in Nairobi. The Mathare slum is situated around the valley. I believe the terms Mathare and Mathare Valley are used interchangeably when referring the slum. The slum itself is quite large large, so it might be divided into "villages", just like Kibera (another large slum in Nairobi). Julius Sahara 22:19, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia has a strict policy about unsourced and potentially libelous material about a living person, any living person. The unsourced libelous statements in the article on Mwai Kibaki will not be allowed to stand. Simply add a citation to any potentially libelous statement, if true, to a verifiable source and the statement can stand.
Statements such as this amount to gossip without sources and do not belong, again without sources, on Wikipedia:
- "Kibaki is also reported to have a second spouse, Mary Wambui, with whom he has a daughter namely Wangui Mwai. Though officially the State House has denied Wambui status as his wife, she is provided all the trappings of a presidential spouse including armed bodyguards & limousines. Mary Wambui is also a National Rainbow Coalition activist."
Please stop reverting changes that remove such from this article. A lot of the information you keep adding back can be kept if properly sourced, and much of it is easily sourcable. However, it cannot remain without sources.
The article also needs serious copyedit work.
Here are some relevant policies that you should read regarding unsourced charges of corruption, conspiracies and the like, even when dealing with political figures:
Wikipedia:Citing sources When adding material to the biography of a living person Main article: Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons Biographies of living persons should be sourced with particular care, for legal and ethical reasons. All negative material about living persons must be sourced to a reliable source. Do not wait for another editor to request a source. If you find unsourced or poorly sourced negative material about a living person — whether in an article or on a talk page — remove it immediately.
The person removing this material is simply doing what is required of all good Wikipedia editors, removing unsourced negative material about a living person. And it is not allowed to stay on Wikipedia without a source. Please review this policy to make certain you understand it. The comments must be removed for now, and may only be reinserted WITH PROPER CITATIONS.

- Hello, those rumors are very often cited on Kenyan media. I added some references, since you are right that such claims certainly need them. What I did, I restored older version of the page, since User:Patch77, has a history of disturbing the article with adding copyvio text and removing content. I'm sorry I had to remove your wikify edits too, since they were made just after the edits by Patch77. Julius Sahara 20:01, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, the rumors are probably sourcable, though, as he is well-studied in the peer-reviewed literature. Well, the copyedits were minor and that happens, so no biggie. However, I am going to copyedit the article in the next day or two, because it is simply ugly, and I will remove all unsupported negative comments. I will watch to make certain it is not right after a Patch77 edit, but please do not reinsert the unsupported negative comments without a source or revert without verifying what is being reverted. Thank you. KP Botany 20:13, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- I think at this point you should request that Patch77 be blocked from continuing to remove the information. However, you must do it without edit-warring, ie, without adding it back every time he/she removes it. KP Botany 22:00, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- I have already considered it. However, obviously Patch77 edits also when not logged in, thus blocking may have little effect. According to those IP:s, he/she may be based in Eastern US and edits only during office hours there. I will watch whether Patch77 edits it this weekend or next week. I understand completely. Feel free to revert the edits if you must. Concerning the nomination for deletion of Lisahally F.C.
There are countless amateur football stubs on wikipedia. Why has only this one been deleted?
- Not all amateur clubs are of equal importance. This one seems to be a bare sunday league team, thus not notable enough according to Wikipedia notability guidelines. Secondly, I only nominated it for speedy deletion, it is admins who will decide the fate of that article. I don't think they will read my talk page, so if want to oppose the deletion, write to its specific discussion page. Julius Sahara 19:46, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Koobi Fora Research Project
I've been doing a research project on the Leakey family, and I am very curious as to what the Koobi Fora Research Project has to do with Meave Leakey or her daughter. I saw that the Leakey Foundation contributes to it, but I don't see any other connection. You were the one who wrote Louise's article, so I was hoping you could elaborate this for me. Thank you. --Farquaadhnchmn(Dungeon) 22:17, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hello. Unfortunately I don't have further knowledge on this issue. I just made the short Louise Leakey article after realizing that someone had made made an inadvertent redirect from Louise Leakey to her grandfather, Louis Leakey. However, there are several google hits linking the KFRP and Leakeys. As far as I know, it was founded by Richard and according to some sources, led today by both Meave and Louise. Re: Atheangelism
Julius, thanks for your comments on Atheangelism. Check out the edits and see if this helps. You are correct in pointing out that the "term" is new, though it has been used of late by Christian apologists. The philosophy, however, is fairly well documented as a distinct world view, religion, or even quasi-religion since 1860. I think this may address your objections. If not, drop a note on my user page.

More on Atheangelism
You raised 2 objections to this article:
1. "look like orginal research" 2. "hardly any google hits"
I think you will see in the revision there is plenty of research on this topic, going back to 1860. Also, see the references for "Evangelical atheism" and "Atheistic Evangelism" from several sources going back to 1993.
With regards to "hardly any google hits" -- Is that a deletion criteria ? I don't think so, but I could be wrong. In any event, do a google search for the terms "atheistic evangelism" and "evangelical atheism" and you will be overwhelmed. It's the same term.
mpleahy 15:21, March 8 2007 (UTC)
Julius, are you an administrator ? How would you feel about creating an article titled "atheistic evangelism", leaving atheangelism, then pointing atheangelism to "atheistic evangelism" ?

- Hello. In my opinion, articles on new Kenyan districts should not be created just yet. This is due to lack of good sources. In the meantime, it would be more appropriate to mention the creation of Pokot North District in the West Pokot District article (as it looks like Pokot North is being split from West Pokot District). Copy Right Violation
Hi Julius, I have picked up the copyright violation you found on my page - you were correct that I have plagarised to some extent - as a new user I was unsure how much Wiki would allow me to get away with (as with a reference this would be acceptable for a university essay). I have completely rewritten the article for Geoforum, I no longer see any copywrite issues, how do I now have the warnings removed from the page? Many thanks Groovychick3291 19:22, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hello. I removed those templates, since they are not anymore relevant. Adding copyright text is forbidden here and one should refrain from doing so. References are used to authenticate statements, but not to be copied word by word. Many newbies get their first articles deleted due to copyright problems, adding deletion notices is a bit rude but often inevitable. Alternatively we could rewrite those articles, but it is time consuming, especially when (i.e. usually) the subject itself is not familiar to us. I appreciate your work on improving that article. New contributors are always welcome and with experience you'll learn how to write even better articles. Julius Sahara 20:44, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
FIL World Natural Track Championships
Just wanted to let you know I reverted all of the edits your did on the individual championships of the FIL World Luge Natural Track Championships. While I understand you think that it is redundant to include luge as a category, I think it needs to be in there because it is a part of the sport of luge. Chris 20:40, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hi. I don't really get your point. All those articles are connected to Category:Luge via its subcategory Category:FIL World Luge Natural Track Championships, so putting all those articles under both categories does not make much sense. Neither is 2002 FIFA World Cup article categorised directly under Category:Football (soccer). If all soccer-related articles were put under one category, it would become unmanageably huge. With luge, there is no such problem yet, but in my opinion, its main category should be kept simple and clean enough. Julius Sahara 20:57, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

International Journal of Health Science
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article International Journal of Health Science, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. I tried to edit this page, but it went from bad to worse. If you have a minute to try to figure out what went wrong, it would help. Also, it looks like someone had already tried to cite "Divide and Rule," so you might be able to get both refs to point to the same entry in the References section.
