Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, JulieSmith123, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Clonakylti, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Clonakylti requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. - Vivvt (Talk) 17:52, 10 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Hi, thanks for your reply. Sorry maybe I wasn't clear with my question- I'm not trying to reverse the deletion- I completely understand why it was deleted! What I'm asking is how it can be completely deleted now, deletion notice and everything so that it can't be seen by others? Thanks JulieSmith123 (talk) 14:01, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • We were all newbies here once, and I know how confusing Wikipedia can be if you are not familiar with its conventions and policies. The best thing you can do for yourself and for Wikipedia is to slow down and heed the advice others have given you.
While Wikipedia can be confusing, there is usually someone around who can provide pointers and advice or even fix mistakes you have made, and we do want new users to stick around and contribute. But we don't react well to anything that even vaguely resembles a legal threat and it is not appropriate to remove an active conversation. Like almost everything else on Wikipedia, it isn't yours to control, and removing other people's comments from anywhere besides your own talk page is almost never the right move.
I personally was editing here for about six months before even trying to create a new page from scratch. It isn't easy and in fact most people get it wrong on their first try, there's no shame in it. Try looking at other articles on similar subjects, that can be a great way to get some insight into how an article should be written. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:32, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I apologise, my intention was never to suggest a legal threat and I thought removing the comment and writing to you personally would be the best move in case others viewed it in the same way but it was reposted! (another rule I didn't know!!) I have no intention of editing or creating other posts. I simply made a huge error of judgment in trying to help a friend by setting up a company page with no regard to the rules and as it has been deleted citing "unambiguous advertising or promotion"-- I really messed up and desperately wanted to remove all traces of the article. I did not react well to being told there is no possible way of removing the article I created and I apologise if you saw any legal threat in what I said. I really was grasping at straws trying to get myself out of it! Sorry again - JulieSmith123 (talk) 17:49, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
