Welcome
[edit]Hello, JuliaerodriguezUNH! Welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are a course instructor leading a class project or assignment. If you're new to Wikipedia or want to learn about best practices for Wikipedia assignments and class projects, we highly recommend that you go through the our training page for instructors.
The training includes instructions for setting up a structured course page and with tools for tracking student work and encouraging peer review. I also highly recommend that you review the advice for instructors page.
If you run into problems or want some feedback on your Wikipedia assignment plans, try posting to the education noticeboard.
Here are some more pages that you might find helpful:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page (editing policy)
- Introduction to Wikipedia
- Help pages index
- Visual editor tutorial
- Wikitext tutorial (if you're choosing to edit pages using the Wikitext source code instead of the VisualEditor)
- Wikitext cheatsheet
While editing:
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Be bold, but do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- No edit warring or abuse of multiple accounts.
- Provide reliable sources to the content you add. If you are adding biomedical information, please follow this guideline.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay with us as a member of the community - even after your teaching assignment is finished. Your time, energy, and your contributions will be highly valued and appreciated among us.

- Hello, thank you for the information! I did do the training and my class is doing the assignment created by WikiEdu.
- In the case of this entry, the student has maybe not moved it out of his sandbox. I will talk to him about publishing it correctly.
- Thank you! JuliaerodriguezUNH (talk) 23:18, 19 October 2024 (UTC)

Link to the new location of the article that was at AfD in the header. Good luck with the rest of term! While I'm here, pinging in @LEvalyn, who has relevant WikiEdu experience, and @Significa liberdade, another admin who's in post-secondary education. I'm volunteering them, but I'm sure they'll agree that we hope you have a smooth experience from here and that we are happy to answer any questions if you have them. Your students are quite likely to continue bumping into wikipedia's "immune system" - they'll do fine so long as they keep calm (admittedly, easier said than done). -- asilvering (talk) 17:30, 2 November 2024 (UTC)

- This is an instructor at UNH whose class on Digital History ended up in a collision course with NPP (you got to it first, actually - see the history of the above link for what happened afterwards). Nothing needs resolving at this point, I'm just volunteering us all in case the students run into any more trouble. If you see them wipe out on NPP, give them a hand. :) -- asilvering (talk) 18:04, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
