Speedy deletion of Earthendesign

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Earthendesign, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD a7.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Escape Orbit (Talk) 17:52, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I got your note about the deletion of this article. I appreciate your reading over the guidelines, and I'm sorry if the band does not meet them. I did want to clarify for future reference that the article was deleted because it did not assert notability for the band. Since Wikipedia gets many, many new articles every day and details can sometimes be difficult to trace, consensus has created a basic criterion that certain types of articles must at least explain what makes their subjects notable for inclusion. I wanted to point this out, because it can be an important distinction if you plan to write additional articles about bands, people, businesses or websites. :) An article about Hatebreed itself could be deleted under that policy if it wasn't evident why the band should be notable. If you're interested in music, maybe you'd like to join us at Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums or head over to Wikipedia:WikiProject Rock music. I myself have been picking material off of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Missing encyclopedic articles/List of notable albums to write articles about (guidelines are at Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums). I don't always work on the kind of music I'd listen to (for instance, Mountain Music), but I've learned a lot and it's fun. :) In any event, thanks for contributing. Please don't let your first experience discourage you. --Moonriddengirl 19:11, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
