Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Jswap, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Put something on your user page too, red link user names look awkward. Yogesh Khandke (talk) 05:43, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Donner party

[edit]

I had received information about Donner Party being at DR. Well the discussion was closed before I could get there. I think the closing admin is right "This needs to have some current discussion on the talk page. The issue was decided by consensus, at least consensus by silence or abandonment, when it was last raised over a year ago. While consensus can change, the place to change it is not here, but at the article."[1] I believe we should move over to the article talk page Yogesh Khandke (talk) 03:46, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

STOP

[edit]

You need to read WP:NPA in its entirety. STOP making assumptions and posting comments about EDITORS - deal with the CONTENT. Please don't make this any harder on yourself. — Ched :  ?  21:02, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Ched, as an uninvolved administrator, I shall be following these discussions and any further comments directed against editors might lead to my intervening, which could lead to a restriction on your editing privileges. Graham Colm (talk) 22:21, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

It's difficult for me to do this - but your refusal to walk away from a situation that you have been warned about by multiple editors leaves me no choice. I've blocked you for 31 hours. I will dig up the requisite template for unblock procedures now. — Ched :  ?  22:42, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I cite the following:

  1. WP:NPA
  2. WP:BAITING
  3. WP:BATTLEFIELD

Unblock request procedures can be found at: Wikipedia:Appealing a block With regrets, and please adopt a more refined approach upon your return. Also please read WP:AGF and WP:STICK, they give very good advice. — Ched :  ?  22:53, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers": This editor has 89 edits[2] and could be used as a newcomer. Shouldn't we be explaining policy before blocking, having said that your block is reasonably short, but a clear explanation of policy - not just links would be more constructive. Yogesh Khandke (talk) 06:20, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If Jswap is really a "newcomer" I'll eat my hat. Malleus Fatuorum 07:32, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I was a little careless, only 89 edits in 6 years. Yogesh Khandke (talk) 08:32, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hardly a "newcomer" then. Malleus Fatuorum 08:58, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Assuredly not a newcomer, as he admits (and his less than 100 edits from the Jswap account don't reflect his numerous IP edits from various IP addresses). SandyGeorgia (Talk) 09:15, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Fast ignition, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

The first paragraph is copied from lasers.llnl.gov/science_technology/fusion_science/fast_ignition.php and the rest of the article is a straight copy and paste from HiPER. This title seems like a good candidate for a redirect, but may need deletion or revision deletion to remove the copyright infringement.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Noiratsi (talk) 18:41, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
