Hydrogenation is important
[edit]Hi talk:Jsphere256. We can probably assume that readers of Shvo catalyst do not need an essay about why hydrogenation is important. It is a highly specialized article. That is the reason that I removed the lecture-like section. Otherwise every article on a catalyst would include this mini-lecture. Just bear in mind that Wikipedia is not a textbook (WP:NOTTEXTBOOK). I would be glad to help you with this and related articles if you want, since it is an area I have worked with. Experience shows that it is usually a good idea to talk these minor points out, rather than writing over each other's text. So lets talk and learn a little from each other. Two requests
[edit]Since your teacher is not paying much attention to Wikipedia etiquette and style, please follow these guidelines in your final edits:
- 1) mainly rely on reviews and books. This guideline is called WP:SECONDARY. For example, almost anything you would want to say is already discussed in the Chem Rev article that I cited earlier. Dont bother going to the primary lit, which is probably too specialized for you to contextualize anyway.
- 2) give full titles and the DOI's for the articles you cite.
If your teacher is unhappy with these rules, tell him/her that I am the problem and we can discuss the issues, teacher-to-teacher! Good luck learning about this interesting compound. --Smokefoot (talk) 03:19, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
