Interwiki

[edit]

You could add OrthodoxWiki to the Interwiki map and then use interwiki links instead of external links. --Pmsyyz 09:22, 24 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

WikiCath

[edit]

Do you know who runs WikiCath? It has has been left to collect more and more spam and is now even starting to accumulate anti-catholic spam, such as at http://www.wikicath.org/Psalms_Chapter_87. Could you ask them to shut it down if they no longer intend to maintain it?

Thanks.

Hi Anonymous, It looks like WikiCath is hosted at http://www.elwiki.com/. The domain is registered anonymously (through a proxy agreement at GoDaddy). A list of site Admins can be found here. I'd suggest you contact them there. Best wishes, Jschroe 16:20, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. Looks like they've fixed up the page you mention. Also, it looks like their site is active.

Jschroe, {{Non-free logo}}, with which Image:OrthodoxWiki.png is currently tagged, indicates that the image is Wikipedia:Non-free content and, as such, may only be used in articles and not one's user page. Is the license tag correct? If so, would you remove it from your user page and tag it for speedy deletion using {{db-author}}? Regards, Iamunknown 04:50, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Unknown one, Can you point me to that policy about use of non-free content on one's user page? My guess is that it's not meant to discourage use of one's own logos for identification purposes, but rather to prevent abuse of copyrighted material. Jschroe
P.S. I am the copyright holder, but it wouldn't be appropriate to GFDL the image since it represents an organization. Jschroe
P.P.S. I see the policy on the Wikipedia:Non-free content page, but I note that the policy itself recognizes that exceptions may be made. I believe that this instance constitutes a circumstance in which it would be reasonable to make an exception. Jschroe
I'm sorry, I didn't notice your comment when it was posted. No exceptions for copyright owners have been made; if you are the copyright holder of the logo and are willing to release it under a free license, then you may do so. Hope this helps. If you have any further questions, please ask me at my talk page. Thanks, Iamunknown 19:42, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Jschroe. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:OrthodoxWiki.png) was found at the following location: User:Jschroe. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 07:36, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
