Spam in J. River

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on J. River, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because J. River is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting J. River, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. FYI Conflict of interest guideline

[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article J. River, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. — Athaenara 18:42, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Citations

[edit]

A fact about Route 66 going through Santa Fe may be well-known to older citizens of the US. But we have English readers of all ages, and it's not likely to be know to a young Australian or South African (or even an older Australian or South African who has never traveled to the US). If another reader placed a cite tag, we should not be removing just because we happen to know the fact is true. Other readers may want to verify and find more information on the topic. Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Santa Fe, New Mexico, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Yworo (talk) 23:53, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Al Cafaro, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia for multiple reasons. Please visit the article for details.

You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --ZhongHan (Email) 01:58, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy tags

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Al Cafaro, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Hairhorn (talk) 02:51, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Police

[edit]

I think I've edited in Wikpedia for at least three years, but I believe I'll stop now. There are a cast of characters who now decide what is acceptable.
