Online Ambassador help

[edit]

Sure! Happy to help :). I'm dropping a message on both your talkpages just to ensure you get it. I'm a law student myself, albeit in England and Wales rather than a US jurisdiction, but I'm fairly familiar with the structure of your J.D. syllabuses. Easiest place to start; what've you done so far? Have you read the little booklets on the ambassadors pages, for example? If so, which ones? Ironholds (talk) 17:02, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! FYI, Sarah and I are not law students but rather getting our Master's Degrees in environmental management. We are currently taking environmental law but are completely ignorant in all other law aspects. We will be posting our progress in my sandbox. This is both of our first times editing in Wiki. Please feel free to chime in about any aspect of our content or page format. Jpurificato (talk) 01:01, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Gotcha; just to check, have you read the ambassador-produced booklets on editing? I'll point out any problems I see, but if you've read those, that's a great start :). Ironholds (talk) 01:02, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • The draft looks good so far in terms of structure (although the references section should go at the bottom of the article, but I appreciate it's still being tweaked). One minor quibble - you might want to use

rather than ; it gives you a few more options (like dividing the references section into 2 or 3 columns after it gets to a certain size, say). Ironholds (talk) 15:16, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ironholds! We've done quite a bit of work on our project, and have even moved our article into the main space. Please have a look, we would greatly appreciate your feedback. Illinois Central Railroad v. IllinoisRuthy sue (talk) 01:50, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Wow! Absolutely loving it :). The format seems fine, although it could do with a few more bluelinks (and splitting up the background section) - one concern is the referencing, which is almost all to the law report. Would you be able to include third-party works, like law journal articles? If you don't have access to them, I'm happy to shoot some over to you. Ironholds (talk) 18:11, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your review! We will work on adding some bluelinks and some additional references. If you happen to come across an article referencing the case, please send it our way! We added a few tidbits from some sources we dug up but the "Importance" section could definitely be bolstered. Jpurificato (talk) 05:43, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
