[edit]Hello, I'm Jim1138. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Joachim Fest seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 08:48, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
I believe that your grandfather was a great person. If everybody left their personal opinions about people, Wikipedia, an encyclopedia, would probably become quite a mess. Given that everybody has differing views on what Wikipedia should be, much policy has been put in place. One of the primary rules is wp:verifiability which essentially states that significant material needs to be wp:cited and wp:reliably sourced (RS). As Wikipedia can be edited by most anybody, many readers want to know where information came from so they can verify the accuracy themselves. You would not want to make a medical decision solely from information you found on Wikipedia. You would want to read what doctors and researchers say. wp:original research (OR) is information that somebody knows and adds directly to Wikipedia without adding sources. OR, being unverifiable, needs to be avoided. If you are interested in contributing to Wikipedia, pleas peruse the welcome section above. Thank you for leaving me a message. BTW: They should be added to the bottom of the wp:talk page. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 19:42, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
