A cheeseburger for you!

[edit]
A month or so ago you deleted my fantasy premier league page. Can i get it back? https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User_talk:ItsYoBoyHybrid#c-Joseywales1961-20221003132800-Speedy_deletion_nomination_of_Premier_League_2032-33 HybridIsAPerson (talk) 15:41, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi ItsYoBoyHybrid, I didn't delete the page as I'm not an admin (just a new page reviewer) you would need to contact the person that deleted the page and you could see who that was on the page logs here. Thank you Josey Wales Parley 19:59, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not reliable sources

[edit]

Hi, can you help me to identify the sources that are not reliable in this article? I will change it. Chelhartt (talk) 20:15, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Chelhartt the ones currently showing as unreliable are 3, 12 & 13 - 1, 4 & 11 show are marginal - there is a great tool to use if creating (or reviewing) articles which highlights these sources see here the best sources will highlight in green, unknown will be blank, marginals will be yellow and unreliables red - or you can read more about reliable sources at WP:RS Thank you Josey Wales Parley 20:26, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is how your references look to the New Page Reviewers using the tool I mentioned Josey Wales Parley 20:37, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your kind help. I have added the tool and it will be very helpful for my future edits. Chelhartt (talk) 20:51, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome, and best wishes with your studies in DCU from an old timer DCU alumni! Josey Wales Parley 20:56, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You have mentioned about New page reviewers, how long it takes usually? Chelhartt (talk) 20:55, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
New Page Reviewing takes a good while and needs a lot of prior work taking part in deletion discusions WP:AfD and similar areas, don't rush it, establish yourself a a good reliable editor and content creator and after say six months read up WP:NPP and see if you would be interested - we are always looking for help in this area Josey Wales Parley 21:00, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't intend that, though. I have very little experience with anything besides editing.
I was wondering how long it would take for an article to be reviewed. I'm a little excited. :) Chelhartt (talk) 21:12, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The pages are reviewed in no particular order, at present I can see that there are 940 pages waiting, I'll usually take the political, military and football ones, others will do cinema, music etc., whatever the reviewer might be confident about. In any event it may be a couple of days or much sooner if the right reviewer that knows that topic comes along. Happy editing and again best wishes and have a great weekend Josey Wales Parley 21:32, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I see. Good to know.
Once again, I appreciate your thorough explanations and assistance with the article. If it's alright with you, I will contact you if I get stuck in the future. You too have a wonderful weekend. Chelhartt (talk) 21:55, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome and do contact me anytime (unless there's a world cup match on I might be distracted!!) Josey Wales Parley 21:59, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That makes perfect sense. I'll bear it in mind. Chelhartt (talk) 20:11, 19 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

OVERLINKING

[edit]

Hi, thanks for your work, but PLEASE don't link the names of well-known countries (or if you see them, unlink). And we don't link dates on WP unless there's a very good reason. You don't need to link "male"—readers know what that means. WP:MOSLINK Tony (talk) 00:55, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tony1 - I've no idea what this could be for? I'm not usually in that area - I mostly only do NPP with minor fixes. Thanks Josey Wales Parley 12:34, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

New Pages Patrol newsletter January 2023

[edit]

Hello Joseywales1961,

New Page Review queue December 2022
Backlog

The October drive reduced the backlog from 9,700 to an amazing 0! Congratulations to WaddlesJP13 who led with 2084 points. See this page for further details. The queue is steadily rising again and is approaching 2,000. It would be great if <2,000 were the “new normal”. Please continue to help out even if it's only for a few or even one patrol a day.

2022 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2022 cup for 28,302 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 80/day. There was one Gold Award (5000+ reviews), 11 Silver (2000+), 28 Iron (360+) and 39 more for the 100+ barnstar. Rosguill led again for the 4th year by clearing 49,294 redirects. For the full details see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone!

Minimum deletion time: The previous WP:NPP guideline was to wait 15 minutes before tagging for deletion (including draftification and WP:BLAR). Due to complaints, a consensus decided to raise the time to 1 hour. To illustrate this, very new pages in the feed are now highlighted in red. (As always, this is not applicable to attack pages, copyvios, vandalism, etc.)

New draftify script: In response to feedback from AFC, the The Move to Draft script now provides a choice of set messages that also link the creator to a new, friendly explanation page. The script also warns reviewers if the creator is probably still developing the article. The former script is no longer maintained. Please edit your edit your common.js or vector.js file from User:Evad37/MoveToDraft.js to User:MPGuy2824/MoveToDraft.js

Redirects: Some of our redirect reviewers have reduced their activity and the backlog is up to 9,000+ (two months deep). If you are interested in this distinctly different task and need any help, see this guide, this checklist, and spend some time at WP:RFD.

Discussions with the WMF The PageTriage open letter signed by 444 users is bearing fruit. The Growth Team has assigned some software engineers to work on PageTriage, the software that powers the NewPagesFeed and the Page Curation toolbar. WMF has submitted dozens of patches in the last few weeks to modernize PageTriage's code, which will make it easier to write patches in the future. This work is helpful but is not very visible to the end user. For patches visible to the end user, volunteers such as Novem Linguae and MPGuy2824 have been writing patches for bug reports and feature requests. The Growth Team also had a video conference with the NPP coordinators to discuss revamping the landing pages that new users see.

Reminders
  • Newsletter feedback - please take this short poll about the newsletter.
  • There is live chat with patrollers on the New Page Patrol Discord.
  • Please add the project discussion page to your watchlist.
  • If you no longer wish to be a reviewer, please ask any admin to remove you from the group. If you want the tools back again, just ask at PERM.
  • To opt out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

Alireza Nurbakhsh Page

[edit]

Hi, I was just starting on that page. That was just a place holder for me to start collecting and write it in my own word with references which I am almost done but the page is gone!!!! Kamrang (talk) 22:24, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kamrang, for deleted pages you may contact the administrator that deleted the page - see page logs here, please bear in mind that when you publish a page, whether you are finished compiling it or not, it goes live on Wikipedia and is subject to review for potential problems such as copyright. To avoid having unfinished pages deleted please make use the Draft space but bear in mind that even in draft, copyright violations would be liable to deleted. Thank you for your contributions Josey Wales Parley 22:39, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Josey, I should have compiled my information before starting. Kind of got excited and jumped into it. I re-did the page in my own words and references I found online, Please check and would appreciate your guidance. Kamrang (talk) 23:46, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It still shows similarity to this page see copvio report here Josey Wales Parley 09:17, 16 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Article reviews

[edit]

Thank you for reviewing the railway station articles so fast. I appreciate your work. I just wanted to ask you if you could also review the articles Aufhausen (Württ) station, Trochtelfingen (b Bopfingen) station and Pflaumloch station, because I thought they also should correspond to the others. If you haven't yet, please consider adding the project page to your watchlist to stay up to date with our progress! Samwalton9 (WMF) (talk) 13:17, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
