There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
  Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
  Help contribute to articles
  Perform maintenance tasks

Become a member of a project that interests you
  Help design new templates
Subscribe and contribute to The Signpost
Translate articles from Wikipedias in other languages

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

Pandemic lockdown is not 4th January it’s 6th January 2021 Wednesday not today please change it at pandemic lockdowns ok

You'll have to be more specific, what article are you referring to? And can you provide a reliable source that backs up the claim you are making? CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n! 23:04, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Iain Lauchland requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 2601:188:180:B8E0:2818:A14B:DF07:4185 (talk) 22:46, 7 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jordanwelby599 -- I've moved this article to draftspace for you to continue to develop it. You can edit it at Draft:Iain Lauchland. Reliable sources are needed for all material in biographies of living people. Books, and newspaper/magazine articles are ideal and IMDb is not considered reliable. I strongly suggest that, when you are ready, you submit the article to the WP:Articles for creation team for review, by clicking the button in the big grey box at the top of the draft. You can ask for advice at the Teahouse, a friendly forum for new editors. Good luck! Espresso Addict (talk) 02:45, 8 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits and new articles

[edit]

Hello, we appreciate your enthusiasm, but Wikipedia isn't a place to write about imaginary things or things you wish could be. I've deleted the drafts, since they don't appear to be about real things. Please remember that this is an encyclopedia, and that you need to write with sources and references to back things up - it's not a place for general conversation or for personal projects. York to Beverly rail line I’m wondering about if the rail line reopens again they built new railway stations and new route than the original railway line to Beverly thanks Jordanwelby599 (talk) 21:38, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not really sure if there's a question here, but if you're asking about the details of the rail line (and it's not in the article) you might want to ask at WP:HELPDESK. If you want to make a change to the article, please be more specific about what you're asking. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, or Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 00:01, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
