intro/pharmacology section

I wouldn’t say there are “only” 2 kinds of alpha receptors. Just say there are 2 kinds. are they located near or within these organs? I would link in the page to antagonists when you first introduce them pharmacology section, you should mention that agonists increase the function of the receptor they act on, and each receptor tends to be related to a specific effects, depending on its localization/distribution in the body

mechanism: I wouldn’t say competitive antagonists attach themselves, this implies it’s an active process, they just bind due to high affinity. dissociation of the antagonist and replacement of the agonist at the same binding site with increasing concentrations of agonist

medical uses: I would include the treatment of stage-fright w propranolol also include specific drugs and maybe the most commonly prescribed beta blockers for hypertension

Adverse effects instead of limitations? probably want to include another specific example of an adverse effect

side effects: might want to say they can be dose-dependent, or maybe some depend on age; might want to include cold extremities as another side effect

Jo - Under Pharmacology section - based on the way this is written, it seems like adrenergic ligands and antagonists ONLY carry cardiovascular effects, which isn’t the case - Limitations - maybe combine with Side Effects and Toxicity section — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gswirak (talkcontribs) 21:58, 20 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
