Hello Jonearles! Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. If you decide that you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. You may also push the signature button located above the edit window. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. Below are some recommended guidelines to facilitate your involvement. Happy editing! -- Chavatshimshon 01:34, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is meant to be informative

[edit]

Noticing two of your recent edits ([1] and [2]) and their corresponding edit summaries, I think you need to know a bit more about what Wikipedia is.

Firstly, Wikipedia is not a paper encyclopedia. This means that their is no conventional limit to how big Wikipedia can get. Or in other words, you can edit till you drop!!!

Secondly, a short post with a red link is better than nothing and the red link may turn blue one day.

Finally, please take this into account, but don't just add nonsense (WP:NOT#IINFO and WP:NOT#BLOG)

But if this article lists every person who goes missing it is not informative at all. Many of the entries I deleted don't have sources, and the others are probably not important. Millions of people go missing every year, and we can probably find local news sources for many of them, but if all of that information is included with this list it will be impossible to find cases of missing person that are really notable.
