A tag has been placed on Standard Networks products, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. If you plan to provide more material to the article, I advise you to do so immediately, and also put a note on Talk:Standard Networks products. An administrator should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 1 under Articles. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and then immediately add such material.Diez2 14:51, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Moveit logo 150.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Moveit logo 150.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. MOVEitDMZ

[edit]

Please don't create placeholder pages such as MOVEitDMZ. NawlinWiki 14:49, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is best just to put in what you can with your first edit, and add a message on the talk page if adding very much will take a few hours.Dolive21 14:52, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on MOVEitDMZ, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Bfigura (talk) 03:29, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use disputed for Image:StandardNetworksLogo 216x65.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:StandardNetworksLogo 216x65.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:22, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Midmz 150s.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Midmz 150s.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:12, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Deletion tagging and articles

[edit]

I have no control over articles that are deleted, other than to tag them for deletion by an administrator, who looks over the evidence and makes the final decision. You should probably contact the adminsitrator who deleted the articles in question (when you click on the redlink for a deleted article, the screen should have an option to look over that article's deletion history). I am just a regular editor, no different than you, except perhaps in experience at Wikipedia.

Alternately, if you can provide reliable and independent sources which will meet Wikipedia's notability standards, especially those for corporations and web and computer type articles, it may help. The sources you provided on my talk page may help an article in question. I didn't look that closely at them, but if they were used as references for a new article about the company in question, they may pass muster. However, you should be aware that Wikipedia strongly discourages people from writing about companies they work for. You may want to consider seeking help in writing a neutral article about your company from a more experienced Wikipedia user who is unconnected to your company. If you have any further questions, or need more help in any way, feel free to contact me on my user talk page again. --Jayron32|talk|contribs 18:14, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Jonathan.lampe@standardnetworks.com", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because please refer WP:PROMONAME. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. July 2020

[edit]
Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.
