My IP Address

[edit]

I often use public computers, so if you see an edit with my IP address, and not my username, it's NOT me.

Just to make it clear for you: When you are signed in, nobody can see what IP address you are using (unless there is serious cause for concern, in which case those with special privileges can run a checkuser. Even then, they won't make your IP address public). If an IP address tries to sign itself JonTheGamer, or you later sign the comments left by an IP address, people will assume that you make edits with that IP address when not signed in. As long as you always sign in before making edits, you'll be fine. Skittle 12:17, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, JonTheGamer, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! jacoplane 12:37, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

On this user's talk page, you made a disparaging comment. Please avoid personal attacks, or you will be blocked from editing on Wikipedia.--May the Force be with you! Shreshth91(review me!) 12:20, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Now try. Incidentally, the appropriate place to bring it up would probably have been the May talk page, but I feel your lonely pain. Alternatively you could have looked around the videogame project pages and asked people there. The way I sorted this out was by clicking on the link that said the page name I had been redirected away from, at the top of the page. I then removed the 'redirect' text. No problem :-) It took me a while to work out what had happened as well. Be fruitful and edit! Skittle 11:30, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
