[edit]Nice work on your article draft.
- You need a lead section that summarizes all the major points of the article. See pages 7-9 in the Editing Wikipedia brochure for more information on article layout.
- Make sure you're using precise, standard English and that you're writing is neutral. For example
- "The 600 MW plant was fired-up"
- "and has provided many jobs around the area of St. Paul, Virginia". "Many" means different things to different people. Use numbers, or ranges of numbers.
- "which makes it unique compared to other energy plants". Unique means singular - is it really the only energy plant of its kind? If it's a claim made in a source, attribute the claim to the person making it.
- "The plant is very large and effective at producing energy, but had some challenges during construction that had to be overcome." "Very large and effective" is very vague. Be specific. "Challenges" is a euphemism. Use plain English.
- "The mountains did not allow for much expansion, so they decided to build the coal storage areas higher than the plant so that gravity would allow the coal to work its way down to the plant to be burned for energy". Don't story-tell like this. Say what was done (the storage areas were built above the plant), why (terrain) and the advantage (gravity assist).
- Similarly "setback" is a euphemism, "threw the schedule" is slang. Don't use "very", it's too imprecise and means different things to different readers. Avoid phrases like "it was discovered" unless you're talking about an actual discovery (and in that case, say who made the discovery).
- Add links to other Wikipedia articles. Topics and terms that are likely to be unfamiliar to the average reader should be linked the first time they appear in the article.
- Make sure that every statement in the article can be tied directly to a supporting reference. References should appear immediately after the statements they support. There should be a minimum of one reference per paragraph, and there shouldn’t be any text after the last reference in a paragraph.
- References go after punctuation, not before.
- Be careful with capitalization. Wikipedia uses sentence capitalization, not title capitalization. Only capitalize the first word (and any proper nouns) in section headers. Don't capitalize words that aren't proper nouns, like carbon monoxide and sulfur dioxide.
