Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. I have reverted your edits. If you choose to make them again, please do so without removing other people's comments. Please also remember to sign your own comments. Grayfell (talk) 01:54, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Johnnyhightower8, I read your message on my talk page that Grayfell deleted. I'm not sure why you asked me to restore the article as a draft, since you're clearly aware that a draft already exists at Draft:Arise (musician) (you've edited it, after all). Please don't attempt to move the draft to mainspace as it stands, since it is not improved over the article that was deleted by unanimous opinion at Articles for Deletion. If you think that you can improve the draft to the point where it meets the Wikipedia notability guidelines, only then either resubmit it to Articles for Creation or file a request at deletion review for editors to judge whether the new version avoids the problems that caused it to be deleted in the original AfD. Arise (musician)

[edit]

The article Draft:Arise (musician) already exists. If there is new information, it should be added there. Is there some specific info that was on the old article that isn't in the current draft?

Please review Wikipedia:Notability (people) and Wikipedia:Your first article to understand why the article was deleted, and what needs to be added for it to be created again. You need to stop adding info because you personally know it, and add info from reliable, independent sources. That info needs to show that Arise is an established artist, not just an up-and-coming one. Blogs and profiles she's created herself don't count. I hope that's helpful. Grayfell (talk) 02:05, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'd suggest you read Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Arise (musician) to see what's wrong with the article that was deleted. Read WP:BAND about notability for musicians, and WP:RS about reliable independent sources (needed to prove it). Remember Wikipedia is not reverbnation or last.fm where everyone can have a page. Otherwise, per the posts above. BTW when you post on a talk page, it's best to start a new thread at the bottom of the page with a new heading inside two pairs of equals signs. The bottom is where we look for new messages, not halfway down a page. When posting to an existing thread, don't select the rest of the stuff or you'll blank it. Only the user whose page it is (or a poster of something no longer needed) should delete other people's posts. An exception is vandalism. There's no point restoring the article as it has been deleted following a discussion and would be deleted under CSD criterion G4. If you can do something to the draft, go ahead. If not, come back when there's enough notability. Peridon (talk) 16:43, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
