A tag has been placed on User:Johnnethe/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. hi, i was trying to create a page for my start up. If it's getting blocked for advertising or promotion, how could i make a page for my purpose? 2402:4000:1329:7562:5718:87FA:8D40:716F (talk) 08:39, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I assume you are User:Johnnethe? If so, please log into your account whenever editing. (Also, do not circumvent your block by editing logged-out.)
The short answer is you cannot, and shouldn't. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not a business directory. It isn't enough for a company to merely exist. We only publish articles on subjects which are deemed notable enough to be included in a global encyclopaedia. This requires that the subject has already received significant coverage in multiple secondary sources that are reliable and independent of the subject. A "start up" business, as you describe it, almost certainly would not meet this standard.
And even if it did, you shouldn't write about your own business, because you have a strong conflict of interest in the subject. If your business one day becomes genuinely notable, someone entirely unconnected to it may write a Wikipedia article about it.
Finally, please note that any sort of promotion is not allowed on Wikipedia, and you should not attempt to use Wikipedia to market your business; you must find other channels for that. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:56, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
