Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Johnjgraff. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 10:39, 18 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

October 2016[edit]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for advertising or self-promoting in violation of the conflict of interest and notability guidelines. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 10:45, 18 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Initially I was just going to warn you not to add your own work to Wikipedia, however I noticed that in 2013 you tried to insert a link to your business on another article - an article where there was very, very little reason for it to be added other than to get people to come to your website. This can be seen as self-promotion on Wikipedia and an attempt to make yourself seem more legitimate. Wikipedia is not a place to promote your business. The only reason you're not getting permanently blocked for self-promotion is because no one warned you about this the first time you did this. Consider this your first and last warning. Do this again and you run the risk of getting permanently blocked from editing. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 10:47, 18 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright violation(s)[edit]

Your contributions are appreciated. You are very welcome here. However, I have encountered possible copyright violation(s). Some or all of the content you added in a recent edit to Aliso Canyon gas leak in this edit(s) appears to have been copy pasted from this source and has been removed.

Please remember that you must write in your own words. We cannot copy and paste from other websites. If I have made an error, please accept my apologies.

For further information, please read Wikipedia:Copyright violations. If you have questions, please ask. Best wishes, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 20:51, 18 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
