Hi! Thanks for your comment on the AfD of Psychonaut.
My own feelings on this matter are that I'd like Wikipedia to be overall more "professional" or "encyclopedic", instead of being jammed, as it is now, with articles on garage bands, Japanese cartoon robots, monsters from role-playing games, "hypothetical moons" (I just discovered this one recently), etc. etc.
I frequently find that there isn't a policy or tag available that expresses exactly what I want to say, so I just have to use the best thing I can find. In this case, I went with "Wikipedia is not for things made up one day", even though I didn't think that that was exactly right. Perhaps WP:OR would have been better.
If we think that it's important that Psychonaut was not made up in one day, then perhaps we might say "Made up over a series of days." My point of course is that this material is IMHO not "encyclopedic". If it were, we could easily provide good cites. This has not been done despite as you say, "hundreds of revisions going back to 21:05, 23 March 2004", and a warning tag about this dating back nearly a year. I mean, really, that looks pretty bad. WP:SOURCE is basic to Wikipedia.
It would be fine with me if the article could be fixed and kept. My AfD is an effort to get the community to take a look at the article and decide whether to keep it or not, as well as to encourage efforts to improve the article. I'll certainly be happy with whatever the community decides. If you do know of any way to quickly improve the article, please do so -- I'd rather keep material than lose it.
Thanks again for your attention. Have a good one. -- Writtenonsand (talk) 16:15, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Germanic-speaking regions of Europe

I do know what 'Germanic' means; I merely misread the template name. I apologise for the confusion, though my deletion rationale stands: merely replace "German language" with "Germanic languages" and "in which German is spoken" with "in which a Germanic language is spoken". Thanks. :) Cheers, Black Falcon (Talk) 00:03, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

I was noticed today by the user JeremyMcCracken about this discussion. Anyway I already wrote here what I think about it. Cheers! --Olahus (talk) 13:30, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Template:Czechoslovakia timeline/Slovak Soviet Republic

Hi Hexagon1, thank you for the revision of the Template:Czechoslovakia timeline (rv. the slovak soviet wasn't recognised by anyone and is not regarded as a national phase in CS history + it is mentioned in the linked 'history' article of the period). I have only two little questions: 1) I can't find in which 'history' article this topic is mentioned. 2) I guess that the Slovak soviet was recognised at least by the Hungarian Soviet Republic. First Slovak Republic figures also in the List_of_historical_unrecognized_countries and at the same time in the template. It might be useful to have SSR in the template, maybe only for the information. Thank you again. Twisp (talk) 00:12, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey

How's it going? How did the exams go? The DominatorTalkEdits 05:20, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

It hasn't been terrible it hasn't been great. I'm going to the Czech Republic for the (my) summer. Right now I'm kind of pissed/sad because I just found out that my grandfather died. We were expecting it sort of but it came at a terrible time, right before I was gonna fly over to see him, right before my uncle was getting released from prison to see him (don't ask) not to mention the fact that the family can't afford a funeral and my poor great-grandmother who just lost a second son. Damn, that looks bad in writing. On a lighter note, here on Wikipedia I got another GA (Reservoir Dogs) don't know if you've seen the movie and I'm hoping to get Prague Spring to FA by the August 20/21 anniversary of the invasion, can you give me any feedback? Well, sorry for burdening you with my troubles. The description of your internet connection sounds like my computer a few weeks ago, now I formatted the hard drive and it seems to be running fine. Well, see you around the 'Pedia, looks like I'm going to take a 2 month Wikibreak over the summer though... The DominatorTalkEdits 15:42, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
I will, and you know, I'm somewhat jealous too, I'd rather live in Sydney than Airdrie anyday. The DominatorTalkEdits 02:14, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:CeskyT.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
